Last Night on FOX News: Stupid Story on Gas, Carter
I'm wondering if anyone caught a story about gasoline and politics on Brit Hume's programme last night? Now, I know everyone here is glued to FOX :), but I'm hoping someone may have seen a snippet of it or can name the reporter.

He did this long story on how Bush and Kerry are handling the high gas prices, and how politics is intertwined in this issue. And then, at the end, he flat out said that Kerry's views were "contradictory" and then, in what has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen on that network, the reporter says, "But, if we factor in inflation, gas isn't nearly as high as it was at the end of the Carter administration."

I just thought that was incredibly irrelevant and inappropriate. Now I'm trying to figure out which reporter said it!

4. Thanks

Thanks!

My main concern, whether it was true or not, was why it was relevant to the story? It's a dumb appendage to a story.

5. The reporter went all the way back to Jimmy Carter?
I thought they'd keep on blaming Kerry for saying he'd consider a gas tax--30 years ago. (I saw that accusation in one ad)

8. I Know

I know, I know . . . :)

Yes, the reporter went back to Carter. I'm wondering why (beyond the typical Democrat-bashing)--I'm going to search Hume's site.

Edit: Turns out it is Carl Cameron. Go figure.
