Bush planning to start a war with Syria very soon. |
|
Pravda: "There are many alarming signals about the future war . For example, Israel is considering the option of bombing some objects in Syria if the information of Syria"s financing HAMAS is confirmed... It is hard to name the reasons why Americans need a new war in the Middle East. Probably, Pentagon and the US Department of State believe that weakening Syria somehow will allow the US to establish more order in Iraq. George Bush could turn to the old traditional American technology of a "small victorious war" to improve his position on the eve of the US Presidential elections. The USA is unlikely to occupy Syria - the country has not sufficient funds even for supporting its troops in Iraq, and the US military budget will not tolerate extra military expenditures. The USA will probably pursue the Yugoslavian scenario - endless bombings until Syria will replace its leaders and surrender."

8. Please explain the CNN bias... |
|
I see this complaint from conservatives a lot, they call it the Clinton News Network and are always bashing it. Then I see it from liberals, that it is the conservative news network- and they bash it.
If CNN has managed to piss off both the ubber conservatives AND the ubber liberals then isn't it possible they might be somewhat unbiased afterall?

They just do that so that you will think exactly what you said, even though CNN is CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY biased to the right. By calling a right wing network "biased to the left", anything actually unbiased or biased to the left can be dismissed as an extreme left wing lie.
Only suckers truly believe that CNN is unbiased or biased to the left - even intelligent right wingers know the truth, but it is a convenient "truth" for them.

If you're looking for "credible", that automatically eliminates virtually all U. S. mainstream media outlets.

of "No draft before the election" seems to me to be highly suspect. Just think about it for a little bit. All it would take is "credible" evidence that Syria poses a "substantial" threat to this country. Or maybe some kind of terrorist attack linked to Syria. The hue and cry for an increased military would be strong, and a draft inevitable if somehow not enough volunteers show up.

Without a boogeyman like Saddam, I can't see Bush convincing anyone of a threat. We have been conditioned for over 12 years about how bad Saddam was, so it wasn't difficult to get people to believe he could be threat. I would be suprised if more than 10% of the people in America could even tell you who the leader of Syria is.

boogyman we've been conditioned to fear, then you'd be right. But there's an endless supply of them. Remember Osama? (Slap myself on the forehead!) Yes, Osama! Whatever happened to my buddy OBL? Gosh, it seems like just yesterday we were all talking about him.
Frankly, nobody cared much about Saddam between the end of the first Gulf War and the lead up to the second. And don't forget that the entire point of the War On Terror is that the enemy is amorphous and everywhere. We'll be fighting this war for years, decades, generations. All it will take will be a major terrorist incident or two in this country (heck, we should start some time of a pool to bet on what and when: I'll take biological in the first week of September) and people will be properly terrified into being willing to do anything, just anything to stop the horror.
I have two draft age sons, ages 21 and 17, and I have the resources (I think) to remove them from danger. But my sons are no more precious to me than your sons to you, or anyone else's sons to their mothers.
And if the Bush regime wants us all to know who the leader of Syria is, then we'll all know his name. Who was it who said that Americans mostly learn geography by going to war?

frankly, he can't WIN at all but he will try to steal (again)
but, please... he cannot convince anyone other than his increasingly diminishing base to spend BILLIONS of dollars and HUNDREDS of lives on another lie.

10. Americans didn't support the Iraq war |

and Bush went ahead with it anyway. Remember how many protests? The majority was against it. Of course, when it started, the opposite happened.
The Bush Crime Family doesn't care about public support, if it did, Bush would not fight for the presidency knowing he was not the choice of the American people.

et al... did not represent the majority, not anywhere close. The majority doesn't care enough to get thier asses off the couch.
I would say that the true majority either supported the war or just didn't care (the latter probably holding the higher percentage).
I do agree somewhat, about Bush ignoring protestors. He says the evidence was falsified somewhere else, but millions of average Americans smelled the BS and he pretended not to even notice them.
If you take Bush at his word, the average American is smarter than the entire his entire administration.

There was a lot of skepticism about the war, but eventually FOX and the rest of media, started to make people feel that they were un-American and un-patriotic if they questioned any of the dear leader's decisions.

We have two current wars going on... and prospects don't look that good. If we had the resources I could see it happening, as we could launch offensive from Iraq... but we don't have the resources, and Bush doesn't have the support.

32. I just had a flash when I read your post. |
|
I remember reading that at the end of WWII, Hitler still thought he had troops, supplies, and weapons to keep on fighting, and his trusted toadies did not dissuade him.
Do I remember that correctly?
If Rove and Co. think that a war in Syria will get them another term in office, they'll do it in a heartbeat, consequences be damned. And their toadies and lackies will all say, yes, yes, we can do it, all systems go, don't worry about a thing.
We know how it turned out last time. Could history repeat itself? Because, damn, the Bush criminals are playing with the same "I don't want to hear bad news" playbook.

Hasn't everyone heard that Saddam made a deal with Syria to tansfer the WMDs to Syria? It won't take a lot of ground troops. The Corps that supply missles and bombs are pressuring for more of those to be used. I suspect it will happen in August.

A bigass bomb in the Green Zone or somesuch. Within minutes, Bush, Fox, and CNN will start squalling "It wuz ASSAD! More evil than Saddam!" and the stirred up public will saddle up and roar off in 14 directions baying for his head. It could be that easy. Again. Sigh...
