Granny D's NUDE torture PICS of BERG w/ BUSH twins!!!
Edited on Thu May-20-04 10:42 AM by nostamj
on edit: utterly disappointed with the priorities of people on this forum lately. here are perhaps the LAST words from this amazing woman but what threads are staying in sight? toilet paper. russert's pitching style. and the standart 15 Berg conspiracy threads. maybe this new subject line will catch on better... :grr:<sigh>:grr:

My life has been long and grand, and I am about done with it, but I am determined to not say goodbye to all of this until I can go to my rest in the soil of a good democracy.

<snip>

In that regard, let me urge those who think Mr. Nader is a better candidate than Mr. Kerry not let their high opinions of their own political correctness cause the deaths of thousands of people in the world over the next four years and the loss of our civil liberties, which would be the real result of such selfish narcissism. According to Bruce Ackerman's wonderful editorial in the New York Times last week, Mr. Nader can avoid risking this outcome if he will name the same Electoral College electors as Mr. Kerry. Votes will register for Mr. Nader, but they will apply to Mr. Kerry if Mr. Nader has insufficient votes to win. It is a way Mr. Nader can, in this way, create a sort of Instant Runoff Voting system by a clever use of the system.

If he will not do this, I cannot vote for him, in good conscience. For I do not want to face the survivor of some family whose members were tortured and killed by our forces a few years from now and say, yes, I could have stopped it, but I was too selfish: I wanted the satisfaction of voting for the better candidate, and that satisfaction was more important to me than the lives of your children and your spouse. I cannot do that and call myself a progressive or even an American. I cannot become the kind of ideologue who lets other people die for my precious beliefs.

Yes, we have to be practical if we are to improve the real world. We All have work to do to get to November and to move into the years ahead. Let us make it joyful and selfless work.

Expect a landslide but do not stop a second in assuring it

14. Umm, nostamj...
Nothing personal, really, but the Russert post is not much about his pitching style. Its a PC debate, which is either REALLY important, or stupider than anything,or kinda funny, depending on your point of view I guess. But irregardless, thats why there are so many posts there.

6. So, if I read this right,
Nader can get what he wants i.e. a decent showing for the greens, but he wouldn't cost Kerry any electors.

Sounds like a win-win to me!

11. A little over a week ago...
some pundit suggested this "elector-sharing" concept with Nader on live TV. Sorry, I can't remember, but I believe it was a female reporter. Obviously, Nader had never thought of that and actually acted quite intrigued by the idea. He said he would give that some thought and nodded in a sort of off-handed agreement.

I sincerely hope that he will take that notion to heart and use it. Seems to me he gets the best of both worlds. He gets his humongous ego stroked by seeing how many votes he can clinch, and yet does not jeapordize Kerry's success in any way. I can't imagine him not going for it... that is, if he is really interested in doing the right thing.

We shall see. :eyes:

19. He'll think about it?
What is there to "think" about? If he doesn't do this, then he truly is a self-serving ego driven jerkwad.

22. I'm skeptical about the naming-the-same-electors strategy
I find it hard to believe that if George W. Bush gets a plurality of the vote in Florida, and Kerry and Nader have more votes combined, then Florida would give it's electoral votes to Kerry because Kerry and Nader named the same electors.

23. I wouldn't do it
It seems tempting but I wouldn't trust anyone to 'do the right thing' once the votes are cast and the incumbent a-hole has favors to bestow on anyone willing to join his gang of crooks.
