...Freeper types just told me that they have heard on the news that American prisoners in Iraq, male and female, were raped while the Iraqis held them. They said that Jessica Lynch was raped twice. Please tell me the validity of the stories so I can pass it on. One of the coworkers is beyond recovery but the other one will listen. Documentation would do wonders with the second one.

and I agree with the earlier postings, ask the freepers to show where they got their "information" that she was assaulted. they are, in effect, asking you to disprove a negative - "show us evidence that she wasn't raped" - what kind of bullshit is that. even though the reports of her abduction and wounds have been disputed somewhat, there has been no discussion of her being sexually assaulted....

and, anyway, even if she had been, that would give the soldiers over there the right to torture Iraqi prisoners?

We take care of our own. I apologize for the lack of link, but isn't rape of our soldiers by our own soldiers a bit more of a problem right now than Iraqis raping our soldiers?
