FoxNews.com e-mailed me back for correction I pointed out!! |
|
I at least have to give Foxnews.com credit for e-mailing me back quickly.
Here is the e-mail and their response.
"The right wing bias shines through!
From the article titled "Kerry, Bush offer voters little choice."
"For all their complaints against John Ashcroft's Justice Department, civil libertarians might keep in mind that the last Democrat in the White House gave us Janet Reno. It's difficult to see how the same attorney general who gave us Waco and Ruby Ridge would show any more deference to civil liberties
in a post-Sept. 11 America than John Ashcroft has."
This is completely WRONG. Bill Clinton was sworn in on January 20th, 1993.
Ruby Ridge happened in August of 1992. So, Reno WAS NOT in charge of the justice department at the time.
Please fix the article."
And their response...
You are right. We are correcting the column.
Thank you for pointing this out to me.

CNN didn't mail me back when I pointed out that Alexandra Twin had written in a column recently that the 'market friendly Republicans' were blah blah blah... this after Alexandra Twin had written an article not four months ago revealing that *gasp!* the market does better under DEMOCRATS.

5. They weren't wrong, they were busted. |
|
I am certain they knew what they were doing. They just weren't counting on someone being smart enough to point out the error! Good for you for calling them on it!

6. Yeah, but wait until you see the correction |
|
My guess is they remove the Ruby Ridge reference and stick in an elian gonzales reference.

8. "Ruby Ridge Reno" is a common rightwing mistake |
|
I've noticed it on a number of rightwing posts on other forums. Whenever I correct them, they always respond with astonishment -- but can't deny they were wrong. It's one of those myths that are so ingrained among them, that they just parrot it without thinking.
