Abrams Report: Human Shield to be Prosecuted
Good grief, is MSNBC's Abrams a total f-ing IDIOT or WHAT!!??!! According to his report, a retured schoolteacher who went to Iraq as a human shield is being prosecuted for violating the Treasury rule against trade with Iraq (the economic sanctions law). In other words, they're using the fact that she bought a bottle of water in Iraq to prosecute her for her REAL "crime," viz., protesting an illegal war and opposing BushCo. The government is seeking a fine, which the schoolteacher says she won't pay, and the mighty US government is planning to take it out of her Social Security check! And this whore Abrams is all for it! Spouting the usual RW bullshit about the "rule of law" -- I call it "bullshit" because the wingnuts have proven time and again that they believe in the rule of law only when it applies to somebody ELSE, not to themselves!

Abrams argues that she "put our troops at risk." To which a defense lawyer said, correctly, that's not what she's charged with.

I did not particularly sympathize with the human shields, because I thought they were seeking martyrdom foolishly, since the US military juggernaut wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger anyway. But this prosecution is just f-ing ridiculous! Reprehensible. Way to go, Asscrack! Crush the opposition, even if it is a retired schoolteacher!

Comments, anyone?

She's in hot water for protesting the war. How long before Bushy decides to arrest or murder us for protesting the war on DU?
