Will the Iraq fiasco effect America's choice in supporting a just war? |
|
In the near future -- if we know mass genocide is happening and the President comes to us and states his case for a humanitarian intervention (and gives no bogus reasons), will citizens be less likely to support it after the Iraq screw up?

|

Avoid underhanded snipes at Clinton please and imagine a scenario like I described.
If you can't imagine it or just don't like dealing in hypotheticals, then perhaps this wasn't the best question for you to answer.

He cared deeply about the Rwandan situation but was prevented by Republicans and lack of public support from doing anything.
When and where we pick our battles is highly dependent on maintaining economic hegemony, racism and Zionism. This much is abundantly clear to all those on this forum, but Americans in regards to foreign policy much like domestic policy doesn't wish to expend the necessary energy to justify or understand why we hold certain values or beliefs. I beleive this was one reason why Bush rushed to war. The speed of events prevented public debate which could/should of taken years.
