Do Republican "scandals" come out every 17 years with the cicadas?

Hmm..mmm... Let's see? Seventeen years ago, we were in the midst of the Iran-Contra scandal. That would have been in 1987. In 1970, we had Nixon invading Cambodia and Watergate starting....Oh, seventeen years before that would have been 1953...Hmmm....mmm...Wasn't that when the McCarthy scandal was full bloom? What is it with these cicadas, anyway? :)

I've got the air conditioning and a fan going, and their love call is still absolutely deafening.

I'm getting sick of crunching their little lifeless shells while walking to the car, but other than that, they're pretty cool. :D

ON EDIT: I was speaking of cicadas, not Republicans. After re-reading my post, I realized it's hard to tell the difference. ;-)
