Sen Mark Dayton (MN) Urges Iraq Pulllout
Note that weasel Coleman's reaction to Mark's comments:

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Sen. Mark Dayton called Friday for the beginning of a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, making him one of the first members of Congress to spell out a specific U.S. exit strategy. "Getting out of Iraq in months, instead of years, is wise," the Minnesota Democrat said. "We should do it on our stated terms, not on anyone else's. We phase ourselves out, we phase Iraqis in."

Dayton, long a critic of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, made his comments in an impassioned floor speech.

Dayton said that he continues to believe the United States must help Iraq rebuild, but with a diminishing military presence, which he says has become a political liability throughout the Arab world. "Paradoxically, every day we are fighting the war in Iraq, we are weakening our defenses against terrorism," he said.

White House officials rejected Dayton's plan, as did Coleman.
In a statement, Coleman called Dayton's plan "a good example of why we leave fighting wars to generals, not politicians. Our commitment to fighting terrorism must be clear," (:puke:) Coleman said. "America made a commitment to make Iraq safe, secure and free, and it's a commitment that must be kept."

Good idea!
Bring all the Democrat soldiers home and send only Republicans to Iraq...if they run out of soldiers, send in civilians in uniform.

4. Sorry. WE invaded Iraq.
And the Democrats aided this fiasco every step of the way.

We have no right to wash our hands and pretend to innocence. We have none.

5. But the Democrats were not representing their base. I live in
a conservative state, and despite my voting religiously, I am always represented by some of the most right-wing rightwingers. I participated in demonstrations, sent letters, tried to stop this insanity but was not successful. So what could I have done to stop it as I wanted?

3. Isn't Mark Dayton the one who took rumsfeld and myers to task
for trying to manipulate CBS over the airing of the prison torture photos? He rocks! Coleman should shut up. He doesn't even realize that the problem is because we DID leave fighting wars to the politicians. THEY are the ones who got us into this. Especially the ones who never fought when they had a chance as younger men. The only individual in the bush regime who was hesitant to go to war (Powell) is the only one who actually had BEEN to war.

the first inquiry (PBS's newshour showed some other democrat as the last democratic question during that session)

9. According to Coleman, no one should criticize any war unless
According to Coleman, no one should criticize any war unless he's a general. The rest of us should just shut up.

Has Coleman ever heard of civilian control of government?

Norm Coleman is acting as if we live in a military dicatorship.
