To Appear on "Meet the Press" SUNDAY, May 23, 2004
Days after U.S. troops and Iraqi police raided his home in Iraq, Ahmad Chalabi, Leader of the Iraqi National Congress and former Bush administration ally, will appear on this Sunday's "Meet the Press with Tim Russert" to discuss his controversial relationship with the United States government and the intelligence investigation mounted against him.
Then, a debate on the future of U.S. involvement in Iraq. Should we "bring our troops home" or "stay the course"? Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio will square off with the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter of California.
And in our "Meet the Press" roundtable, David Broder and Robin Wright of the Washington Post, John Harwood of the Wall Street Journal, and William Safire of the New York Times will discuss the situation in Iraq and the political implications for Decision 2004.
Tim Russert is the moderator and managing editor of "Meet the Press." Betsy Fischer is the executive producer and Michelle Jaconi and Erin Fogarty are the producers.
