Kerry delaying accepting nomination could get more convention attention |
|
the fact is that major networks have decreased the amount of time they show of the convention. everyone knows it's mostly a formality and intended to hype up support for the president and vice presidential candidates and other democrats and democratic issues.
but with delay of accepting nomination people would be interested to see how the democrats run things and actally tune in to the things said and done. and especially when kerry gives his "non acceptance" speech.
it's also a good thing that they got this out now as the controversy will die down and nobody will care later. much better than they got this out now than just a few weeks before the convention when there would be less time to make clear that the move is not to allow bush to freely attack kerry rather than something corrupt as right wing tries to make it.

1. it could also get the convention |
|
no attention at all if the Repugs have their way and claim that it is just a "rally", not deserving of strong coverage, unless w's "rallies" are given equal treatment in addition to covering their convention.
We shall see if the nets buckle under to their masters.
