Question about Bush-backers |
|
I mean this as a serious question and hope I will get some serious answers. I read a lot of rw sites to follow what they are saying and thinking. How come Dems will discuss the pros and cons of their politicians and debate everything, but the rw absolutely idolizes Bush and the Bush family? It's like teenage hero worship- Bush is so handsome, look at him in a flight suit, he never makes a mistake, if he appears to make a mistake it is because he has a secret plan that we mere mortals can't understand yet until he tells us. Laura is absolutely perfect, the best 1st lady ever, they are so in love, and the girls are serious students who are gorgeous and perfect little ladies.
What is WITH these people? They truly believe this shit when it isn't even necessary.

My first thought is that they're pathologically detached from reality and live in their own little ideologically pure fantasy world.
Is that any help?

3. One thing about the RW |
|
they are truly black and white thinkers - like little children with a bad parent - someone is either all good or all bad. No shades of gray.
Therefore, they repress and deny all the negative and only see what they want to see. Eventually, of course, the cognitive dissonance gets to them and they all go insane - like they are now.

Neocons don't think. They do only what they are told to do, and believe only what they are told to believe.
Liberals question everything.

The RWrs have not yet opened their eyes. Like the blind puppies, they crawl around looking for the teat.

They would willfully be lead to their deaths thinking their leader was the greatest person in the whole world and had their best interests at heart and they can't do anything wrong! They are so blinded by the propaganda that they are unable to see mistakes or think independently.

7. They're simpletons who need an ideal to cling to |
|
So they project it onto him, mostly at his urging by playing them for the fools they are.
Let's face it, someone almost has to have a mental or emotional problem to not realize that Bush is put into office by his special interests. He didn't rise through the ranks as a man of the people, statesman, understanding America, with great vision, through individual achievement. He just has the backing and is manipulated. He doesn't know jack shit about any of the issues for which he is responsible. Pelosi was dead on.
In short, his worshippers are inferior human beings. That is all.

8. They are the epitome of the tv and pop culture... |
|
Many of them, from what I can gather, do not read much. Most of the information they get is from the tv or radio, so they're easy to brainwash and manipulate. I also believe that many of them see Bush as a religious man; therefore, anything he does is great. The right also has a set of ideas that they will not deviate from: against abortion, for prayer in school, smaller government, less restrictive gun laws, etc. Anyone who can deliver these ideas through legislation can do no wrong.

13. And some just do what the church tells them |
|
I'm pretty sure many of the fundamentalist and evangelical churches harp on the evils of being a liberal democrat, and Bush was chosen by god to be pResident. It's easier for them if they just do what they are told and don't question it.

9. It's not love - it's infatuation. |
|
And by the time the autumn leaves fall, the summer love will be gone and Bush may just be a memory to a lot of his former lovers...
