Gving props to Sen. Dole for his service to his country. Says he admires him. Bill said if he never did a lick after WWII he had already done more than enough 100 times over.
Wow. Imagine the pukes trying to say something like that about a Dem. They'd choke themselves unconscious on their own bile.

9. You should question your leaders |
|
don't let it descend to questioning their motives or accusing them of being twisted.
America is trying to come to grips with globalization. Global terror. Religious and cultural and ethnic diversity, will it make us better? We changed teh way we relate to the rest of the world in the ways that are both frightening and wonderful.
Dems reformed themselves from promoting social justice and civil rights. REpubs defined conservatives the private sector should try to improve things before gov't. Now slowly over last 20 years, bitter anti-gov't and religious right have reformed...both parties are trying to build a new consensus that responds to the challenges of 21st century world. Extremists will have more influence as long as we don't have consensus.

all your actual or potential adversaries, you have to compromise!!
Nothing has changed but more people are dead and more people are mad.
We are all interdependent and you have to make deals, compromise is honorable, not dishonorable.

16. For a tiny fraction of what we spend on defense |
|
and I do mean TINY, we could help feed the children who have never had a clean glass of water in their lives.
Pentagon budget $2 trillion.
Need three things:
Strategy for terror
Strategy for more friends
Be part of every conceivable network that will bring people together. Builds a habit of working with other people. Being a team member more likely to find peaceful resolutions in 21st century.
Keep making America better. Not our military or arsenal but our example...if we can prove that freedom breeds respect and lets people feel proud of their culture and religion, goes a long way to continuing to prove America works.

Senator Kerry is also a very brilliant man who can speak in complete sentences and actually knows what he says. President Clinton will be a major asset in Kerry's success.

But, to borrow a phrase: "I know who John Kerry is. I've watched John Kerry for Years. John Kerry is no Clinton."
But we can hope.
Hell he'll be such an improvement over Smirky that Kerry will look like the second coming of Christ.

Clinton and the people who elected and supported him will always be evident as superior in all the history books.
Too bad about the flaws that resulted from the centrist moves.

19. We will never eradicate terror |
|
Edited on Mon May-24-04 01:51 PM by Monica_L
unless we realize we have to define the future in terms of humanity that goes beyond our country.
Judge people based on what they do.
Terrorists should be punished. But we have to be able to say to the world, we want to be a home to every peaceable person. The world has never before had to do this. Big psychological jump. Different thing for a country to live this way. In 1945 we nearly blew ourselves up. The UN came along. We've had 15 years to build global community. People in Kosovo and Kansas are more alike than they are different.
My last year in WH, Hillary and I talked about big questions at Millenium evenings, one issue was sequencing genome. Genetically all human beings are more than 99.99% alike. Next time you start to feel like you need to demonize someone, think about that.
Alot of blood shed over that .01%. Live by the 99.99%
Applause...........
