DO NOT ERASE HISTORY. Abu Ghraib should've been left standing and intact.
What is the rush to destroy it? It only serves the needs of those doing damage control.
I will read the Abu Graib thread and I am sure that others here have already voiced this notion.

1. W has to hurry up and destroy the evidence
of his own atrocities, while there's still time.

3. I wouldn't mind them tearing it down
if they had done it at the beginning to send a clear message that we are different from saddam and thugs. Sadly, we used it to torture and humiliate Iraqis much like he did (It's all part of winning hearts and minds) and pulling it down now is merely a way for us to try to save face. I don't think it's gonna work, do you?

4. tearing down would be great BUT building another to replace is
ridiculous......they have spent more time on building prisons and bases than anything to help the people....put them to work...instead of putting them in prison.....usa prison system doesn't work...why do we think it is a good idea over there.....

Wrong course AGAIN

5. I agree.
It smacks of destroying the evidence so as to negate that the crimes ever occurred. Would have been better to keep as a museum of the horrors of warmongering and torture.

7. Agreed. Too late, Bushie-boy. The damage is already done.
And right now, if anyone has moral authority to tear down that shit-hole, it's the Iraqis.

:nuke:
