Poor store sales and the weekend of June 11 to 13
If there were poor retail sales on the weekend of June 11 to 13, I wonder if all the stores will blame the live action "Garfield" movie.

1. I saw what you are talking about.
It's absolutely bizzare. People went to the mall to watch the movie, but didn't buy anything. They buy something every other time, but this time they didn't. Yeah, OK.

4. That Shrek stuff was a load of crap...
The cross marketing on that movie was almost as nauseating as "The Cat In The Hat" (does Mike Myers have a penchant for this shit?), which the cross marketing worked for.

If the economy was in good shape, the kids who saw Shrek on friday would wan't the Shrek M&Ms, Shrek Happy Meals, Shrek toys, etc.. etc...

5. And I bet they would want stuff related to the Garfield movie like
the "tie - in" books, though the movie characters don't even remotely resemble the ones in the "Garfield" comic strips.

6. I was anticipating the movie

until the trailer showed me that they apparently ignored the god of the "Garfield" strips.... his holiness... Odie.

7. There is in fact an "Odie" dog or dawg that Garfield's vet convinced his
keeper to adopt, but the pooch doesn't resemble in the least the comic stip Odie. Woof! Bark!

8. I figured it was the live action dog that dances w/ Garfield
in the trailer. If it is that dog, this Odie fan is displeased. :)
