The Right has finally hit the brick wall
Edited on Wed May-26-04 01:14 AM by Must_B_Free
they are in a DAZE now. They can't figure out what is going on as the cognitive dissonance between belief and reality sets in.

It takes a while for news of significance to filter to the masses. It takes that time for the people who watch and interpret news to tell the others what it meant.

How shocked they must be to see the WMD story admitted as a lie and to see the architects blaming each other.

The entire Iraq campaign is undeniably a disaster, summed up by images of torture. The images are an analogy to what we, as a nation, have done to Iraq.

We had loyalists who fought us tooth and nail to commit violence as a solution, and they have been proven wrong. Last night made it clear that there's no Calvary(calvalry) coming over the hill to save the Bush administration. It is now undeniable that Bush is not capable of being a leader and he never will be.

Now we have replays of Bush's greatest hits. A Sarin Shell. A Murder. Terror alerts. Shark attacks. My how they long for those clever yesterdays when simple tricks produced results.

We saw them lie about the Torture scandal; "Just a few bad apples" they said - except the soldiers seem to be saying those orders came from up the chain. "Oh well - their word against ours", say the higher ups; however the word of those higher ups suffered greatly when confronted with the video of the wedding party they slaughtered.

I was worried that they would gain some inertia from the Sarin shell, but it turns out to be very old and is also incongruous with WMDs as a lie from Chalabi. Too many evil cooks in that kitchen.

4. bingo
how ironic it is that the poison they picked for themselves was completely unnecessary, and had they heeded others' warnings they would probably be enjoying substantially better numbers. then again, people would still be pissed about gas prices.

5. BS
Gas prices are a direct result of our actions in the Middle East. If the Republicans behaved better, they would easily have a second term, but they messed up and they messed up really bad.

2. And this is the true point where you see them
falling apart.

Just remember, some of them will follow them to the grave... there is
nothing we can do about those, except be weary.

Now to redouble the effort for November

9. I run a political chat board...
...and it's just ASTONISHING how shrill and hysterical the rightwingers have become. One person whom I've known for years and loved to discuss things with has gone into full attack mode. When you get them in a corner, all they can do is call you a bunch of names of change the definitions of words.

It must be really awful to see the emperor exposed for all his nakedness...

3. The Right is delusional
They will continue to convince themselves, despite all evidence to the contrary, that everything is fine because Dubya is in the White House.

6. In a matter of days, the story will be about the hearings
in front of the armed services and intelligence committees about who knew what when.

7. Iraq is waterloo for the war-chimp....its only gonna get worse...
Anyone the neo-cons appoint to govern will quickly be assassinated. Things are going to go further downhill after the "turnover".

BTW - not to nitpick, but unless you spelled calvary that way with tongue in cheek cuz smirky says it that way, you might want to correct it to read cavalry.

10. Slowly and methodically start moving toward international control
Don't just cut and run but start on Jan 21, 2005 to make Iraq comething other than our colony.

11. Replay
A replay of Bush's greatest hits will be another terrorist hit on this country.

After that, Bunnypants will be, once again, the Hero who will lead this country out of the wilderness. Just you wait! It's comming!

All will bow down before Dear Leader. If you doubt this, then you have forgotten the lesson of the last "election."

9-11 changed everything alright. Bunnypants is correct when he continually says that nothing will ever be the same.

Even as I write this, my radio is warning me about pending attacks.

Do you think this cabal is going to give up power by a mere "election?" HA!

Do you think the "media" is going to take a stand against this cabal? HA!

We are left to talk amongst ourselves while we can.

<major parinoia mode off>

13. Well, I have a certain fatalism about all this.
If the election is a sham, then George gets to continue his/our nightmare. There's going to come a time when the bag of shit breaks and if he's holding it, well, there is a certain deserved payback to be had, I think. 2006 will see a new Democratic Congress....and life will never be the same for George.

So, in essence, Bush wins....and he loses. Or Bush loses.

12. Well yes...
They were driving the bus, and we were sitting in the back seats.

Now we are flying out of our seats in movie-style slow motion towards that same brick wall.

Damn, this is gonna hurt.

14. Well said. I'm also dreading hitting that wall.

A lot of those RWers WANT the world to end so they can be with Jesus. The teaching is that we're supposed to be ready to meet Jesus at any time, not that we're supposed to set up our own deaths to get there sooner. Can't they get anything right?

15. They are disillusioned and scared..
Edited on Wed May-26-04 02:39 AM by SoCalDem
"War" was so much "fun"..

They could wrap themselves in the flag, and yell "Traitor" at any who dared question their "shit-kicking-cowboy leader".. It's all a big game of pretend...

They thought that our invincible warriors would go in and "kick some Eyeracky ass" and the whole world would fall over each other to line up in apology to Bush the warrior prince..

They were happy to "save the world from WMDs", but then they had to change that to "democracy for the Iraqis", and then to "freedom for Iraqi women", and now they probably have no idea why their nephews, sons, fathers, husbands are dying, so that Iraqi girls can have pencils..

They are confused, and they don't know why.. They love their little Dubby-Wubby, but in their heart of hearts, they have got to know that he's not much brighter than cousin Floyd who failed the 8th grade twice and bags groceries at the PigglyWiggly..and they are sworn to follow him over that proverbial cliff, even though they know he's wrong...

16. The vague "terra" threats
seem to be their one and only savior. Their Calvary(calvalry) so to speak, right on cue it happens every time.
