Bush in Ohio: Handshakes, smiles, and expanding healthcare for all
He promised everything except fresh horses and a flagon of mead for all the men. LOOK at this friggin' kid. He's climbing on top of people's heads like a monkey climbing a tree for a banana just for the privilege of shaking Junior's hand. The kid on the left is waiting for his chance to pursue the American dream of one day climbing across people's heads to shake the hand of George W. Bush. The gentleman to the right of the president either has his hand on his heart due to the sheer emotion of the moment, or he has a bad case of acid reflux. Hard to tell from just a photo.

"Expanding Access to Health Care for Millions of Americans"

"As you can see, I'm joined by some of your fellow citizens here, to have a dialogue about health care. And there's some really amazing things going on in the Youngstown area, as well as across the country, to make sure people have got a safety net. And that's what we're going to discuss, community health centers and why they're important for Ohio, why they're important for the country, and how they fit into a strategy to make sure we do a better job of controlling costs, as well as making sure people get health care. That's what we're here to discuss."

"We've got people in our country who hurt, who are lonely, who wonder whether or not the future belongs to them, whether or not there's any brighter day. And we've got people in our country who are willing to surround the lonely with love and to help. See, that's the strength of America. And the reason I like to talk about the Sid Harrises of the world is to thank those here and those around Youngstown, and those around the country, who are doing the same thing, and to call upon others to love your neighbor like you'd like to be loved yourself. We all can save America, one heart and one soul at a time. And Sid Harris is a part. (Applause.)"

The crowd sure looks happy, huh? They must all have healthcare coverage. From what I can see, no one looks sick. Stupid, yes. Sick, no. OK, cue up R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" as the official re-election song of the Bush campaign...

4. Wait until they lose their insurance
Just as he wants to make it that they go to church to get their food, he'll make it that they'll have to go to church to get their health care.

Welcome to the new theocracy.

8. Take a look at that first picture---there's a lot of military people
in it. Typical. He doesn't dare appear in front of the regular citizenry----only military and wealthy.
