Gore Marches Bush Out to the Wood Shed.. with style..
Remarks by Al Gore
May 26, 2004
As Prepared

George W. Bush promised us a foreign policy with humility. Instead, he has brought us humiliation in the eyes of the world.

He promised to "restore honor and integrity to the White House." Instead, he has brought deep dishonor to our country and built a durable reputation as the most dishonest President since Richard Nixon.

Honor? He decided not to honor the Geneva Convention. Just as he would not honor the United Nations, international treaties, the opinions of our allies, the role of Congress and the courts, or what Jefferson described as "a decent respect for the opinion of mankind." He did not honor the advice, experience and judgment of our military leaders in designing his invasion of Iraq. And now he will not honor our fallen dead by attending any funerals or even by permitting photos of their flag-draped coffins.

...snip...

To begin with, from its earliest days in power, this administration sought to radically destroy the foreign policy consensus that had guided America since the end of World War II. The long successful strategy of containment was abandoned in favor of the new strategy of "preemption." And what they meant by preemption was not the inherent right of any nation to act preemptively against an imminent threat to its national security, but rather an exotic new approach that asserted a unique and unilateral U.S. right to ignore international law wherever it wished to do so and take military action against any nation, even in circumstances where there was no imminent threat. All that is required, in the view of Bush's team is the mere assertion of a possible, future threat - and the assertion need be made by only one person, the President.

3. Here, here!
If I had been there, I would have been standing, clapping and cheering, especially over this phrase:

"It's not the central front in the war on terror but it has unfortunately become the central recruiting office for terrorists

What a disgrace that Al Gore was denied the presidency by a bunch of thugs.

15. I thought about that too. I'd think he runs them by some people,
maybe gets some ideas, but I'd bet he writes them himself. I know Bill used to do most of his own.

Gee, I wonder what the speech would be like if Shrub actually wrote one himself? Hmmm, maybe he'd be able to pronounce all the words.

Bushmail
Feeling much better today... but the thing that cheered me up the most was some 'fanmail' from George W. 'hisself' so I thought I would share it with y'all ...
(Thank you Bob Fredrick- you know how to make a girl smile)

***

Dear Iraqi Person,

Could y'all please stop killin' each other? The folks over here are startin' to git madder than a feller in a canoe what done forgot his paddle! Wuts worse, the more y'all keep tellin' folks on that com-putter thing-a-ma-bob wuts goin' on down there, the more they don't pay no attention to my TV reporter guys on Fox to tell 'em wut they need to know! Next thing ya know, I'll be out on my butt come next eleckshun an' Daddy'll hafta start me another oil company so I can look like I'm an important guy who is reely smart!

At the last meetin' I got to go to with Daddy & all his friends, Mr. Ashcroft said wut we need to do is git Iraq some of them "Patriot Act" freedoms so we can start lockin' more people up, but Mr. Powell told him to "keep it in his pants" wut ever that means. Daddy & Mr. Cheney wuz laughin' an' havin a good ole time cuz they just read some kind of profit paper fer Mr. Cheney's company that he ain't sposed to work for anymore . uh.Halyberton or sumptin like that..Then they wuz about to go inta whut we're gonna do in Iraq, but Mr. Cheney reminded Daddy that it was my bed time, so I had to leave.

So, if ya'll could do me a favor, please stop all that killin' and when ya see camera or reporter guys, just smile and tell'em just how much yer lives have gotten better since us 'mericans came and liverated ya'll! Keep it up and Daddy tells me after I'm re-elektid, we can liverate Iran & Syria next! Ain't that cool!

Yer Bestest Buddy,

George W. Bush,

Pres. Of Texas & 'Merica

(Note: All spelling errors are original to the soon-to-be-unemployed chimp that wrote them.)

17. That was the most complete, honest and truthful polemic in our time
My God, can you just imagine how different our nation would be today had Gore been elected as he should have in 2000? My heart breaks for the America we could have been and should rightfully be.

Gore sounded like some of the great African-American preachers. Same intensity. Same cadence. Wish he had sounded off like that in 2000!

24. Can't wait to see his speech on CSPAN!!
One of Gore's former advisors was on TV tonight saying that Gore is attacking bush like cheney is attacking Kerry. He said it was a good thing to help Kerry since Kerry doesn't yet have an official VP. Thought that was a good observation. Gore will help run interference for Kerry by saying the things that need to be said and let Kerry stay above the fray.

Im in tears from frustration dealing with these people!

I just can't comprehend the depth of their ignorance anymore.
