Campaign for America's Future (CAF)
I just got this Nation newsletter. I don't think there'll be any Fair Usage problems, so I'll repost it here in full.

In the past three years America has suffered a dramatic decline in its
fortunes, moving from prosperity to recession, from peace to war, from
record budget surpluses to record deficits. This Administration's legacy
to America is one of pre-emptive strikes; destabilizing tax cuts; the
rollback of protection for workers; consumers and the environment and a
fierce assault on the rights of women and minorities.

It's time to lay out a forward-looking progressive agenda to counter the
rightwing and take America back from the most extremist Administration of
our lifetime. In that spirit, next week in Washington, DC, the Campaign
for America's Future (CAF) is staging a conference with many of America's
leading politicians, scholars, thinkers and activists.

For a full schedule of events:
http://www.ourfuture.org/projects/national_conference/2004/agenda.cfm

Beginning a week from today, Wednesday, June 2, the Take Back America
Conference features panels, speeches and seminars with Sen. John Edwards,
Howard Dean, Arianna Huffington, John Sweeney, George Soros, Robert Reich,
the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Robert Borosage, Jim Hightower, Nan Aron, John
Sayles, Gloria Totten and The Nation's David Corn, William Grieider and
John Nichols, among many others.

Seating is limited so register now for this historic event:

And check out Borosage and Nation editor Katrina vanden Heuvel's new book,
Taking Back America, inspired by CAF's 2003 Take Back America Conference.
Recently released by Nation Books, the collection features
forward-thinking essays by many of the people mentioned above as well as
Benjamin Barber, Bill Moyers, Barbara Ehrenreich and others.

Finally, please visit http://www.thenation.com regularly for new weblogs,
exclusive online reports, info on nationwide activist campaigns, Nation
History offerings, reader letters and special weekly selections from The
Nation magazine. (This week we're featuring new magazine pieces by Praful
Bidwai, Eric Alterman, Scott Sherman, and Katha Pollitt!)

Best Regards,
Peter Rothberg, The Nation

1. I'm going.
I got an email a couple of days ago offering an $89 registration which includes (I hope I have this right) breakfast and lunch each day.

Anyone else here planning on attending?
