Bush Theme Song
Edited on Wed May-26-04 10:26 PM by rpannier
When Clinton ran in 92, his theme song was, "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow."
I think shrubbies should be REM's "End of the World." What song would you pick?
(All due apologies to REM)

10. hmmm
and think of all the hate there is in Crawford
Bush drowned in drugs, just like Peter Lawford
his monkey brain is spinnin, brain's in space
the sickness can be seen,
right on his face
a snide disgrace,
clearing brush in his place
hates his fellow man,
never forgets to say grace

But you tell me over, and over, and over, and over again my friend
You don't believe we're on the eve of destruction
No, no, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

Good lyrics, thebigidea.

That song's been rolling around in my head quite a bit, lately.

Edited on Wed May-26-04 11:20 PM by thebigidea
I remember singing Eve of Destruction a lot in 2002-3.

I should probably put together a mutant cover of it at some point... hmmm...

Edited on Wed May-26-04 11:52 PM by Eric J in MN
Mid-Eastern world,
It is exploding
Violence flaring,
Bullets loading.
The media will shill
For Bush they're voting,
You don't believe in war,
But your tax dollars are smoking,
And even the Tigris River's got
Bodies floating.

thebigidea lyrics - slight changes for syllables

Think of all the hate, there is down in Crawford
Bush drowned in drugs, just like Peter Lawford
Monkey mind spins, his brain is in space
Sickness can be seen,
Right across his face
The pounding of the bombs,
He's a snide disgrace,
He can clear some brush,
At his phony place,
He hates his fellow man,
Never forgets to say grace

I admit, I just fired up the synthesizer/geetar/4track and am trying to figure out the chords. D-G-A7? with a Bminor for "myyyy friend"?

Damn, times like this I wish I were a musician... my only recourse is to go for screwy noise and odd sounds, so people think I MEANT it to sound horribly crappy.

Oh well, at least its fun.

6. "Death on Two Legs" by Queen
Queen
A Night At The Opera (1975)
Death On Two Legs

You suck my blood like a leech
You break the law and you breach
Screw my brain till it hurts
You've taken all my money - you still want more,

Misguided old mule
With your pigheaded rules
With your narrow - minded cronies who are fools of the first division-

Death on two legs -
You're tearing me apart,
Death on two legs
You never had a heard of your own -

Kill joy, Bad guy,
Big talking, Small fry
You're just an old barrow - boy
Have you found a new toy to replace me,
Can you face me -

But now you can kiss my ass goodbye

Feel good, are you satisfied

Do you feel like suicide (I think you should)
Is your conscience all right
Does it plague you at night,
Do you feel good - Feel good!

Talk like a big business tycoon,
But you're just a hot - air balloon,
So no one gives you a damn,
You're just an overgrown school - boy
Let me tan your hide.

A dog with disease,
King of the 'sleaze'
Put your money where your mouth is Mr. Know all,
Was the fin on your back part of the deal...(shark!)

Death on two legs
You're tearing me apart
Death on two legs -
You never had a heart of your own,
(You never did, right from the start)

Insane you should be put inside,
You're a sewer - rat decaying in a cesspool of pride
Should be made unemployed
Then make yourself null - and - void,
Make me feel good
I feel good.

12. Gustav Holst "The Planets"
Edited on Wed May-26-04 10:44 PM by bushwentawol
"Mars the Bringer of War" I know you can't hum it as well as rock & roll but I think it fits with chimpy's theme.

"The full horror of mechanised warfare confronts us face to face in this bleakest of all tone poems. Its face is unrepentent, unrelenting and merciless and it offers us no hope of redemption. Thousands of pairs of jackbooted feet parade across the landscape, scurrying to their graves. Tanks pound cities into rubble. Bullets fly and bombs fall. Airplanes swoop low overhead. How surprising it is, then, to learn that Holst completed this piece long before the opening of the First World War, before the invention of the tank, before any plane had ever been fitted out to carry bombs, before the slaughter in the trenches, before the use of poison gas."

14. "Do the Evolution" Pearl Jam
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This song fits perfectly.

Do The Evolution
Time: 3:54
Vedder, Gossard
I'm ahead. I'm a man.
I'm the first mammal to wear pants.
I am at peace with my lust.
I can kill cause in god I trust.
It's evolution baby.

I'm a piece of the man.
I buy stocks on the day of the crash.
On the loose. I'm a truck.
All the rolling hills I'll flatten 'em out.
It's herd behavior. Uh huh.
It's evolution baby.

Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, he's my clone.
This land is mine, this land is free, I'll do what I want, yet irresponsibly.
It's evolution baby.

I'm a thief. I'm a liar.
There's my church I sing in the choir.
Hall-le-lu-jah.

Admire me, admire my home, admire my song, admire my clothes.
Consider, appetite for nightly feasts.
Those ignorant Indians got nothing on me.
Nothing. Why? Because, it's evolution baby.

I am ahead, I am advanced, I am the first mammal to make plans.
I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher.
2010 watch it go to fire.

It's evolution baby.
I do the evolution.
