No dems has won more than 50% of the vote in a presidential election since Carter 28 years ago.
Clinton should've in 1996, but ended up .8 short, probably because he coasted through the summer and Perot did better than expected. But that election should've been a bigger route.
Clinton might've in 1992, the final poll before Perot re-entered had the big dog leading 53-45 I think.
Gore might've had the election been a week to 10 days later, he was rising fast and Bush falling fast. Still, Gore and Nader, 2 liberal candidates combined for 51%.
