My comment: Until AFN is prepared to give Al Franken (for example) equal time, Rush must go. If an active duty servicemember were to say some of the hateful things Rush gets away with within earshot of the wrong person, he or she would be in deep kimchi. If we don't tolerate hate speech amongst our servicemembers, why do we broadcast it to our troops on government radio?

off Armed Forces Radio, I just want the truth also played for an equal amount of time. That would be far more enlightening and have the benefit of showing Rush to be the drug addicted fool that he is.

Yours is a two-step or three-step proposal that is much less likely to be implemented because it's more complex with more points of potential derailment.

86-ing Rush from AFR is a simple, one-step move easily implemented.

So, while I agree with you in principle, I opt for this as more practical.

I agree that it's a shame that many of our citizen soldiers in Iraq listen to ugly dishonest swill that corrupts their understanding of the war, politics and just about everything else.

I'm not, however, comfortable signing a petition about mandating what *other* people listen to. Does anyone really think Rush would be voted off AFR by the people who AFR is designed to serve? If not, the idea here is to remove the opportunity for other people to listen to something they enjoy... that's evil.
