A new Democracy Corps strategy memo from Stan Greenberg and James Carville
hope this isn't a dupe :D

got it from www.talkingpointsmemo.com

http://www.ourfuture.org/docUploads/20040520_dcorps-stratmem.pdf

The intro ... "Six months out from the election, the race for president has entered a new and distinct phase with Bush not only endangered, as we suggested earlier, but now with the odds against him. He is more likely to lose than win. Public confidence has collapsed on Iraq, but there is a lot of collateral damage, producing a strong desire for change. Whether it is the vote or job approval or personal favorability, Bush has become a 47 percent president at best. In almost every area, he is being dragged down by even stronger negative trends. Put simply by the voters themselves: just 42 percent want the country to continue in Bush’s direction."

2. Let's not get complacent. Keep on pushing.
and G*d help * and Co. if there's martial law. Or not. These days, I doubt if the armed forces will tolerate even that - they're turning on Rumsfeld.

4. Agreed - we're still the underdog
And, don't forget, Bush can pull out an August Surprise, a September Surprise and an October Surprise

1) Find Al-Zarqawi
2) Drag Osama out of his cell
3) and, days before the election, find those WMD they have been planting in remote locales in Iraq. Too late for them to be disputed, but the Corporate Media will announce it as justifying the war.

5. Underdogs
But wouldn't ANY of those "surprises" be obvious political gambits to anyone who's been paying attention to the daily stream of lies that flows from the Chimp administration?

6. You would think so...
but far too many people pay little attention to the news. Or, Faux is their source.

I try to talk to people about shrub, and about what is really happening in the world. Just in my own little corner, I am amazed at the lack of information most people possess.

7. How many really pay attention?
They'll notice BIG HEADLINES - Kobe Bryant arrested for rape - Scott Peterson kills Laci & unborn baby

But, most people think politicians lie all the time and most would be surprised if they knew how extensively the Bush Admin lies.

If they pulled these surprises off, Faux, CNN, MSNBC, etc will be falling all over themselves orgasming over how awesome the Mighty Bush is and they'll make it seem like he went into a hole in the ground alone, punched out Osama's bodyguards and dragged Osama out by his beard...
