We don't use a Parliamentry system, and our "winner take all" of the Electoral College system forces us to have two parties. Hypothetically, what if our parties were similar to those north of the boarder. How do you think they would be based on poltical spectrum? Here's my guess:

The Greens would be like the NDP. Most mainstream liberals, allowed to vote their conscience, would become Greens.

DLCers and McCain-Specter Repubs would form their own centrist, Liberal Party counterpart. There wouldn't be "Democrats" or "Republicans", but a "Republicrat" type of party.

Consitutation Party would be the Tories, and emcompass most mainstream Conservatives like Sanotrum and the BFEE.

Minor Parties would include a "Bloc Dixie" if you want to include fringe southern seperatist parties (like the Southern Independance Party), and the Libertarians, who would only have 3 or 4 seats in "Parliament" and would vote with a certain party depending on the isssue.
