Randi Just Made a GREAT Point About the Abu Gharib Pix |
|
She said that they were planned by * to outrage Americans by portraying man-to-man eroticism in the worst light possible.
It makes sense, especially when you remember that bushco was hellbent on making gay marriage a fake issue in this election. In a way, it's brilliant: run on an anti-gay-marriage platform, then haul out the lewd "gay" pix from the Iraqi prisons! "We're fighting the terrorists AND gay marriage OVER THERE rather than on American soil."
Man, Randi is sharp!

Two birds, one stone, so to speak.
And for everyone who is speculating about Randi leaving, you can stop.
She just said 'None of us is quitting. None of us is going anywhere.'

that's the stupidest thing I've heard of a person saying in... well, these are stupid times, so I'll say in three or four days.
Worth noting that those photos were the first thing since the Iraq war started to ever take a chunk out of Bush's Republican support and/or southern support. Both down aprox. 10 points and, judging from the other polling questions, due entirely to Abu Ghraib.

No way in hell was bush doing that and to put it forth as a theory makes her sound like a deranged person. It certainly does help shysters like Hanity paint her as a nutcase liberal doper.

6. The pictures are the only thing that have dented support for the war. |

I doubt Bush wanted them released.
But I do think the JJ flap was preparation for the day they knew the pictures would come out.
I think they wanted to frame it as an issue about whether porn should be on the TV so that news shows wouldn't show the pictures.
I believe the worst pictures haven't been on TV for that reason.
