Concern Over Explosives In Car Was 'False Alarm'
PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. -- Federal authorities said Thursday that the arrest of an Illinois man whose car was loaded with suspected explosives triggered a false alarm.

When officers pulled the man over in Pleasantville, N.J., they found what appeared to be two grenades and several gas containers. But an examination later showed that the grenades were harmless and the gas cans were empty.

Records indicated that the man's car is registered in North Riverside, Ill., and authorities said the suspect also may have lived on the city's north side.
