Democrat's and Republicans must convince McCain to run with Kerry
Edited on Thu May-27-04 06:48 PM by DevinDNC
The latest CBS News poll, has Kerry beating that dork Bush, by 8 points... However, that number goes up a further 5 points when McCain is added (hypothetically) to the Kerry ticket.

This proves that a Kerry/McCain ticket would "Bitch Slap" a Bush/Cheney Ticket, and that is why John and the DNC (and those Republicans who are sick of being betrayed by Bush) MUST convince a a true American like John McCain to run with a true American like John Kerry...only the two Johns can heal America

McCain is one of my favorite Republicans... which ain't saying much.

But having him on a Dem ticket? If he's only a heartbeat away, guess who's heartbeat is in the way?

We're supposed to be an OPPOSITION party, darn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired of seeing "pure evil" and "half-baked evil".

A McCain/Kerry ticket is insane. Yes, I did put the names in the right order. I am really tired of "bipartisanship" where only the Dems cave in and the repukes don't do their share of compromising. Clinton gave us 8 years of that shit (though his mideast peace policy was one I actually loved and respected him for...)

The two Johns can find a couple of (corporate) Pimps for all I care. We need this ticket as much as we need AIDS.

Heal America? Not when it's continuing to give corporate america what it wants all the time. We're a country BY, OF, AND FOR THE PEOPLE. Not BY, OF, AND FOR THE CORPORATION.

30. Uh, no. Absolutely NOT. The VP has two Constitutionally defined jobs.
Edited on Thu May-27-04 07:19 PM by JaySherman
And two jobs alone:

1) From Article 1. Section 3. Clause 4.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

2) To serve as President in the event that the President is unable to serve out his term.

Any other duties are at the request and pleasure of the President only. Too many people forget or do not understand this. McCain, however much of a 'respectable Republican' many of us may think he is, is still a REPUBLICAN and a CONSERVATIVE nonetheless. Any administration (Repub or Dem) with an opposition party member a heartbeat from the Presidency and acting as the tiebraking Senate vote is courting disaster.

You Kerry/McCain supporters need to go back and reread (or just plain read) the Constitution:

31. Kerry doesn't need McCain.
Ridiculous, and it isn't going to happen. McCain is more of an asset for this country and far more effective if he remains with the Republican party. God knows the US needs more McCains in the Republican party. The Congress would have a better chance of coming together and working effectively for the country if the 'other side' of the aisle were cleaned out of the radical spoilers.

35. The "Surrender Ticket" again
The ticket that says, "the republicans must be right , let's get on board."

IMO, McCain enjoys an underserved amount of respect, because most people don't know about the Keating Five, Black Mesa and various other shady dealings in his past.

And if that still isn't reason to not run him, he backs Bush!

43. If McCain is Kerry`s running mate. I won`t vote. I will be busy making
plans to leave the country. My Democratic party is ruined if a two-faced liar like McCain has to be on our Presidential ticket. Lieberman was bad enough. But McCain is the same as a Nazi to me. I will never again vote for a repuke. Never. Including that "too pompous to stand up for Americans votes to be counted" McCain. Anyone that does not like it can motherfucking sue me. So I hope that poll compensates for people like myself. Who know what a slimey pile of shit McCain and his election stealing party members are. And won`t vote for him. Two thirds of "Get Over It" is "Get Over". I refuse to let the maggots who lost by 540,000 votes "Get Over" On Me. They can take their "get over it" and use it as an enema.
