I got to talk to a potential Congresswoman tonight!

Democratic, naturally. I am giving no further identifying information, though, so don't bother asking.

She's not a shoe-in winner, but she has a damned good chance!

Here's what I told/asked her:

1) I asked her that, when (if, I hope I hope I hope) she gets to Washington that she should INVESTIGATE Bush/Cheney's many frauds and thefts and illegal acts. That we wanted ORANGE JUMPSUITS on Bush/Cheney.

2) To do something about the whole "Democrat Party" slur. I told her I knew it was sort of a difficult picayune subject to broach, but that it had to be done. The small "Quality of Life" Issues add up to a lot and also serve as gatekeeper to more serious abuses/bullyings.

I also asked her to give Tom DeLay a slap for me, but I'm guessing that as much as we DUers would dearly LOVE to see that...it ain't happening.

But we must make ourselves HEARD by Party Leadership whenever possible. We must make our elected officials understand how deeply angry and distressed we are, so that the next time the Busheviks bully them, they might remember us and fire a salvo back instead of turtling. It WILL eventually trickle up if enough of us do it.

I just started working for a candidate here in South Bend who has a good chance of defeating the incumbent Republican Chris Chocola. He is very much like us and is speaking out against the war.

And I was greatful. We need to be doing this sort of thing ALL THE TIME, IMHO, to make our new Reps understand whast we want and to stiffen their spines for when the Bushevik Sub-Media takes aim at them.
