How dare they!
"How dare they drag the good name of the United States of America though the mud of Saddam Hussein's torture prisons!"

If that's crazy, I don't want to be sane!
:silly:

2. I read the speech first
And then I knew I HAD to watch. C-Span was overloaded for hours, I finally got to see it -- I just wanted to see him say HOW DARE THEY!

7. I just watched the MoveOn excerpt yesterday
I couldn't get on CSPAN either that night. Everyone was posting about it but I hadn't seen it, but when I did - wow. I really underestimated this guy.

Anyone have a link to the whole video?

4. Gore is the Best!
This is Gore's best speech ever, and he is 100% CORRECT about everything he said. Go Gore! Kerry/Gore 2004!

...
http://www.moveonpac.org/goreremarks052604.html

How dare they blame their misdeeds on enlisted personnel from a Reserve unit in upstate New York. President Bush owes more than one apology. On the list of those he let down are the young soldiers who are themselves apparently culpable, but who were clearly put into a moral cesspool. The perpetrators as well as the victims were both placed in their relationship to one another by the policies of George W. Bush.

How dare the incompetent and willful members of this Bush/Cheney Administration humiliate our nation and our people in the eyes of the world and in the conscience of our own people. How dare they subject us to such dishonor and disgrace. How dare they drag the good name of the United States of America through the mud of Saddam Hussein's torture prison.

:bounce: :bounce: About time somebody said it!

Rotten Bastards didn't like what President Gore had to say so I'll just post the link.

9. Boston Herald has some right-wing weird connections
I wouldn't be surprised if the Moonies were involved in some way. The Globe is a decent neo-liberal paper, but the Herald seems to be a joke.

28. My thoughts exactly! How Dare He?
Edited on Sat May-29-04 05:56 PM by Tight_rope
The editorial staff of the Herald is a "disgrace" to America. How dare he/she/they criticize Al Gore for stand up for what's "Right". It is because of newspapers like this one that the American people are so confused. Instead, of printing the truth, he/she/they choose(s) to print the lies of those who line his pocket with money.

As the saying goes, "MONEY TALKS BULLSHIT WALKS"! Nonetheless, the Boston Herald editorial staff is full of bullshit and should take a walk.

And next time the chicken-shit(s) should identify hisself/herself/themselves so I know who to address when I want to send a "Fuck You Letter".

11. I don't know but I fired off an email to the
SOB's reminding them that the planning to take down the WTC was hatched during Poppy's Regime and first attempted during the early days of Clinton. John Fund of all people has some like trash at WSJ Opinion Journal today too.

15. Here we go:
Edited on Fri May-28-04 06:25 PM by ibegurpard
http://www.fact-index.com/b/bo/boston_herald.html
"On December 20, 1982, the paper was purchased by Rupert Murdoch, who changed its name back to the Boston Herald. The Herald continued to grow over the ensuing decades, expanding its coverage and increasing its circulation.

In February 1994, Patrick Purcell, who was the publisher of the Boston Herald and a News Corporation executive, purchased the Herald from Murdoch and established it as an independent newspaper.

Today, through Herald Media, Inc., it publishes four daily newspapers, 87 weekly papers, and 21 shoppers in greater Boston and on Cape Cod."

So it's owned by a Murdoch lackey.

the stale, stinking "how come we're not outraged about Nick Berg" talking point was too much to bear.

13. The Boston Herald calls him "Senator Flip Flop"
That really says enough about what they think of Kerry.

I don't know who owns that paper, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were Murdoch or the Moonies.

I thought it was from some skinhead or kkk site. Even the NeoCON NY Post is not that bad. John Fund of all people has a hit piece on WSJ's Opinion Journal...this is pure hate from the extremist radical right wingnuts.

23. Editorials don't have bylines. Op-eds do.
Edited on Sat May-29-04 08:39 AM by Eric J in MN
In the NY Times, Washington Post, etc., the Editorials are by the editors, with no bylines.

The Op-eds have bylines.

14. I have a confession to make
I've watched the clips of Gore's speech on MoveOn about 25 times since yesterday. His speech is like music, the cadence is catchy, and he expressed the emotions I've been feeling with the tone of his voice. Why do we allow this art of emotionally inspiring rhetoric to be left to the televangestlist scammers and right-wing nutjobs?

If Gore, Dean, and Kucinich had TV shows in the style of Pat Roberston and Jimmy Swaggart, the South would be solidly Democratic and liberal.

24. I just mean their audience
Honestly, Jimmy Swaggart was really talented, a good musician and a great speaker, but certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Robertson is just a weirdo freak.

I think the art of emotional rhetoric and public speaking needs to be revived. The only place it still exists in US society is Protestant churches. The left could fund some speakers and TV shows and make some serious inroads right in the heart of Bush's base.
