Is Chimp Toast?

It seems to me that every hour there is New News that is Bad News for the Chimp. While this makes me extremely happy, what is sticking and when will he be officially toast?

1. November 2. 2004, he is officially toast.
Until then, it's just unofficial.

2. All he has to do is stay close and then his $$$$$$$ will buy him a run.
It depends how far he sinks before then and how the Kerry and Bush campaigns handle themselves, but it is impossible to count out Bush until he has played his full money and media hand. Expect utterly staged news cycles for weeks and weeks before the election and ads with lies the likes of which weve never seen.

3. There's still time.
Anything can happen between now and November. There's still alot of people who are not sure. I was talking with my daughter's principal Friday. I thought I had him going for Kerry (really more going against Bush) but then he read that a Kerry presidency will increase his taxes $1,000. His logic is that with Bush he knows what he's getting.

I told him, "yeah, I know and I don't want another 4 more years of it." I was really pissed that he was focusing on paying $1,000 more a year...considering I pay that school over $10,000 a year in tuition.

4. I don't know
Kerry needs to win some states in the South in order to become president. Since no president has ever been elected without winning at least 5 Southern states it might be tough.

What states will Kerry win in the South?? Florida maybe... if he doesn't get screwed there like Gore did.

If we had nominated someone from the South, I'd say yes, but it will be harder for Kerry.

Also you can count on BBV and other Jim Crow tactics to be used.

7. Not true. Kerry can win without winning one single southern state.
There are several plausible scenarios that prove it. Yes, Florida IS in play, just like in 2000. And, YES, just like in 2000, winning Florida will guarantee a victory for the Democratic candidate. We CAN win without Florida, but the Republicans CAN'T. Suddenly, Arkansas and Louisiana appear to be in play. That's terrible news for the right wingers. They'll be forced to defend states that they can't possibly win the election without carrying. Advantage: Kerry.
