Whoa! Tom Clancy just said re Wolfowitz ...
"Is he really on our side?"

He said that in '01 he was in the Pentagon for "Red Team" (??) and Wolfowitz came in and briefed them and after he left, that was his impression: "Is he really on our side?"

Smart man, huh?

He said earlier that voting for Kerry would be a stretch (I can identify!) but it's a long way to November.

5. Sorry -- he and Genl Zinni were on Deborah Norville
I forgot maybe not everyone saw that other thread on the subject. Very good hour -- Norville is beginning to impress me a little bit.

22. Deborah Norville - - Ick!
I watched it a few minutes, and in that time she twice insisted to them that something had happened under Clinton's time or on Clinton's watch, too.

Seems like a good interviewer would let the subjects talk and not try to steer them. Why would a GUEST need to be "fair and balanced"?

23. Norville is a lot more straightforward than the clowns on
the Scarborough Country. Tonight a current US Congressman was the host(Re-pug). I don't think a government official should do this type thing as it looks improper to me. Of course, right now try to find something that is proper in this out of control repug government! All three re-pugs (the Congressman, C. Hitchens and a so-called journalist) were bashing Bill Clinton and Lanny Davis was taking up for him and I thought he was going to pop a blood-vessel at Hitchens as he as much as told him he was a liar to his face. That was great!

4. Good question, Clancy.
Considering the PNAC agenda has roots in a similar document written for the Likud party in the mid 90's, it's hard to tell who these treasonous neocon shitbags are really working for.

6. Did you hear his comment about "voting machines?" Where he went with
his mom and "pulled a lever" and it worked...and why can't we do that anymore?"

He really seemed worked up about the machines. The other stuff he said turned me off. Like when he called the 9/11 victims "poor slobs and fools" (something like that). I cringed...he seemed so arrogant.

The majority of the folks in those towers were neither slobs, poor or fools. Ugh...he's a little weird for me..but at least he might get some book sales for Zinni.

Ain't that what it's all about? Sales...Sigh..But I think Zinni has alot that's worthwhile to say. I bookmarked his speech which was better at laying out his plan and thoughts for changing the military than having to sit through all those commercials and Norville.

Hopefully the folks who only have time to watch, got alot out of their views, though.

14. He Referred To Downsizing Light Troops By Significant Numbers
and that is a fact.

He also followed up by razing MIC for preferring to spend $ on high tech gadgetry.

The guy has credibility for slamming both sides.

9. It's getting to the point that people are going to ask them pointblank..
Are you working for Israel or are you working for America? If your loyalties lie closer to Israel than our country, and this includes certain people in the Congress and Senate, then perhaps you may want to move to the country where your loyalties lie? Are you listening Joe Lieberman? There is a point where people have to decide whose side they are really on, in my opinion.

17. The US has certainly done a

great deal to help Israel, at great cost to our relationships with most, if not all, Arab and/or Muslim countries. The fact that fundamentalist Christians support Israel because they view it as essential to their personal salvation troubles me very much. I think that in the past Christians supported Israel for humanitarian reasons, though they were definitely influenced by the fact that Christianity grew from the teachings of a Jew and draws on Judaism. It's only been in recent years that I've been aware of this hidden motivation of attempting to force the coming of Armageddon so some people can get to Heaven sooner.

I agree with you that people who hold public office in the US should be loyal to the US above any other nation, regardless of their religious or ethnic ties to another. You'll remember that in the 1960 campaign JFK had to make it clear that his public policy would not be controlled by the Vatican, as the ugly rumours were charging. Aren't these similar situations?

10. GREAT Interview. Norville Did An Excellent Job...
or is it that journalists these days suck so bad, she did well by comparison?

Anyway, this interview should be required reading/viewing.

Zinni didn't pull any punches.

Cited Clinton's downsizing of military (light troops) and MIC's love of high tech gadgetry.

12. I agree, great interview
My impression of Clancy & Zimmi is that they are both traditional Republican's who are really pissed at the neocons who have taken over our government. It seemed to me they both were sending a message directly toward *'s base, don't drink the neocon kool aid.

As far as what Clancy said about Wolfowitz, that was the name he was asked to comment on, in my mind he must feel the same way about Rumsfield, Cheney and the rest of maniacs in charge.

26. It's a good question - whose side is Wolfowitz on?
He certainly doesn't have my best interest at heart, and he doesn't have America's best interest at heart - otherwise he wouldn't be doing what he is doing.

28. Not just him...
Richard Perle has authored position papers for Likud;
Doug Feith is a partner in an Israeli law firm that will be involved in Saddam Hussein's trial (I forget whether as prosecution or defense);

There's more, but those two come to mind immediately.

Israel may be a friendly country, but it's not the 51st (and foremost) state, which is how these guys seem to treat it.

I wonder if they are registered as foreign agents?
