C-SPAN WJ Viewers: Are You Noticing Today's Blast Fax??? |
|
Seems several callers this morning claimed to be Democrats and that they had just changed over or can't vote for Kerry. Several claimed they were Catholics spewing the abortion line and now one on the "divisiveness" in the party (not sure who she specifically meant).
Oh...and those 250,000 new jobs last month. How many included fries with it? Or government jobs? Or how many fell off the roles that month. Ooops. Details, details.
Cheers!

1. The guy calling about Clinton and cigars |
|
was really amusing. I'm sure I heard the same voice a couple of weeks ago - maybe when Brock was on. These people are either crazy fanatics or paid operatives.

4. EJ Dionne Just Laughed At Him |
|
At first I thought the guy should have been cut off...your usual Clinton hater...but after a while it got funnier and funnier as this guy was groping to come up with just one more insult and name to call.
Ya know, maybe we should just let these blowhards go until they can't go any longer. It was amusing to hear that loser so slinking away.

2. The Ratpublican faithful are out there spewing |
|
trying to shore up failing support for the chimp in chief.
They are trying to deny every thing from prisoner torture to the Plame outing. They want turn the conversation over to Cigars, Gay marriage, and abortion. They know the fundie masses are quickly coming up for grabs as it becomes harder and harder to defend Chimpy's policies in Iraq.
All of us here at DU should fan out and cover all the middle of the road boards and call lines not allowing them to change the subject. Bush knows he faces some tough hurdles as the Plame investigation looms over his head, the 911 report due to come out, and Democrats still are investigating the torture in Iraq.

3. I was about to post about that |
|
I don't listen to WJ all that often, but I too noticed the number of so-called Democrat callers who say they now support Bush. What the hell?
Is this really an orchestrated thing? It's just too bizarre.

5. This Is My Daily Game Now |
|
A couple weeks ago Keith Olbermann mentioned to Joe Wilson he had a question that had been sent by the White House. There's also the Dave Letterman/Florida yawning kid thing. I could go on and on, but there is a definite operation within the RNC to monitor any and all chatter shows and influence them wherever possible.
Dionne mentioned the very coordinated effort the GOOP has done over the past 20 years in building a strong media machine...and this is one of its most effective arms. It sets the way people "chat at the water cooler" that then gives legs to how stories are selected for the evening news that then set the focus for the night-time/prime time shows. If you get your spin out there the louded it can dominate the entire day.
The game I play every morning is to see if I can spot the latest blast fax talking points. Obviously Faux gets the memo first, but if you watch WJ long enough, you can see the way this show is used as well.
