The LaRouche people keep calling me
and I keep talking to them. and every time I start off patient, respectful & open-minded... never say anything bad about their guy, but we end up in a shouting match anyways.

they HATE Kerry. They think we don't have to accept the fact that he is the nominee & they will be in Boston next month in force to broker their guy for the nomination...that's the plan, at least. They really really think they can pull it off.

I ask 'em why Larouche is running as a Democrat & not an independent & they can't answer that.

I ask 'em what they think of Kucinich & his plans for progressive reform in the party, then this guy starts trashing HIM.

They told me I have my head buried in the sand and I need to wake up.

and hop on the Larouche train? yeah, right.

If I ever want them to stop calling me, all I'd have to do is tell them I'm Jewish.... but what's the fun in that?

1. Give them toy guns and tell them to attack Buckingham Palace
That will keep them away from you.

2. Yeah, this one woman was calling me regularly for a while. I don't know
exactly what it was I said that finally made her quit. Maybe it was because the last time she called I told her that they didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning anything. Or maybe it was that the democrats have a workable plan for solving the problems of Iraq and the economy whereas they had some pretty goofy ideas that weren't practical or realistic.

I kind of miss her. She was willing to argue (politely) and it was kind of fun. Plus, it was on their phone bill, not mine.

5. I've got some video of one of them.
She was very enthusiastic about being interviewed. Some highlights are when she said LaRouche was the Socrates of our time, and the most truthful man who's ever lived on this planet. At that point (May 2003), he was leading in the number of individual contributions and she made a point out of that by calling him the "leading" presidential candidate.

One thing I noticed is that their organization seems to make a lot of money selling overpriced publications. She gave me this stuff for free but like, I looked at some of the prices on it and this one newsprint magazine was $1, and another one that looked kind of like an academic journal was $10, and there was an ad on the back of it for a book that was $75.
