Wesley Clark on Aaron Brown CNN at 10:00 pm EST |
|
One hour from now.
Also, in the news....
Draft Wesley Clark announced today that they will be running television ads in Iowa, NH, and Arkansas promoting the General. Apparently, it's the first time that's ever been done for an unanounced candidate. The ad can be seen on 'Good Morning America' tomorrow morning.

1. Will he announce tonight? |
|
Last I read said he'd announce before September whether or not he'd run.
Any predictions?

Incidentally, traffic is way up lately at the three main draft Clark sites. And he already had the second highest internet traffic of any of the candidates - including Bush.

5. Clark Audio Interview on EV World |
|
I had the chance to interview Wesley Clark last April and to tour Wavecrest, the company he's the CEO for. The guys at Wavecrest are really bullyish on Clark. They say he's a very down to earth, hands on guy. Here are the links: http://evworld.com/databases/storybuilder.cfm?storyid=520http://evworld.com/databases/storybuilder.cfm?storyid=525Bill

addition to the democratic candidate field. She's a Democratic Pollster. Says Clark is articulate, smart and will add credibility to the debate over the reasons to go to war.
Alan Murray asked Charlie Black, repuke strategist was asked if the repukes are nervous about Clark, he feigned disinterest. Says, Clark has a distinguished military career. But he doesn't think Clark will run because he's a year too late and there's no money out there. Says, Clark is smart enough to figure this out. I might add that Black tried not to show nervousness, but his eyes remained downward and he did look nervous.

I don't know how much more he can make, LOL, but when you have people raising half a million and you're not even an announced candidate....

With a professor of Middle East Affairs(?)
Saying it could explode into a battleground between Islamic Fundamentalists and the West.
With Saddam & his boys gone the Shiites could join with the Fundamentalists.
There have been major uprisings in places like Basra.

Talking about the battle in Texas, and how TOm Delay and other big shots are trying to help the GOP.
Tom Delay won't talk to reporters, his security rushed him threw the room into an elevator.

Clark: Its Not Time. Says he isn't concerned about that, there is a groundswell support of people looking for choices.
Showing the Ad.
Clark: First time i've seen that, I've had no contact with them.
Iraq as in Issue: We into Iraq based on fear, scant evidence and rhetoric. We didn't expect the current situation.
THe only terrorists we are finding are the ones now entering the country to fight us. We weren't welcomed as liberators.
These issues are at the center of what the US stands for.
I've served under Dems and Reps, its not partisian.

20. He has the strategy and tactics DOWN on this thing... |
|
Like, we operate in this country on the principle that our leaders are held accountable, and they have misled us into this war based on:
"some intuition, some fear, and some exaggerated rhetoric, and some very, very scanty evidence"
"a classic, Presidential-level misjudgement"
"if democracy means something, that will be reflected at the ballot box"
Accountability, that's his ticket.
Man, he's coming...and the Philistines should quake in their toy combat boots.

I just love how he can really go after Bush without sounding aggresive. That's the key to getting the women's vote. Women voters turn off to anger. If you listen to the guy, he's ripping Bush to shreds ... with a freakin' smile on his face. Ha! I love it!
Wes, you rock.!

the thing is to attack or criticize or get whatever point you are making about the opposition through without coming off as an asshole. this way it's hard to paint them as partisan attacks, and just makes the other side look bad if they do n't respond in an equally respective calm tone.

You're right about staying calm. That would drive his opposition crazy. I thought the commercial looked pretty good, as if he could defend our country in times of crisis. I think it's also important for people to know that he was a Rhodes scholar in economics, what with the economy the way it is.

He was especially good tonight. Pduck- The actual, 60 second ad does include the bit about his being a Rhodes Scholar and mastering in economics. Aaron Brown just edited it down to a few shots. You can see the full ad at DigitalClark.com.

VERY inspiring! It was definitely directed towards people who are concerned about our national security. Good first attack.
The economics part was pretty minor, but that can come later. Best to let people first know that he's not just some wimpy Democrat (I'm assuming that he is going to run).

23. They have to make sure they don't over play the military part. |
|
We don't want people thinking he's 'just a general.' Carville understood this in the Crossfire segment he did with Clark, and made sure to ask him some domestic policy questions; I hope Clark makes sure everyone tries to grill him on domestic issues so he can demonstrate how well he handles them.

Wasn't that commercial great? They spent the extra bucks for a 60 second commercial rather than the usual 30 second one. You can see that they are playing to the middle. That doesn't bother me. I know enough about this man to know that he's no conservative.
About the Economics thing - he taught economics at West Point too. That's pretty cool. I'm not at all concerned about how he would handle domestic affairs. The man is smart, number one, and two, he would have a slew of advisors. Which his detractors at this site seem always to overlook.

Clark supporters I am sorry I was not here yesterday to put up the good fight, but I went to the Illinois State Fair to stump for. . .GENERAL WESLEY CLARK!!! Throughout the day we met with various statewide elected officials to promote GENERAL WESLEY CLARK!!! We did not get a chance to talk to Gov. Blago, but we talked to Lt. Gov. Quinn, Attorney General Madigan, Chief of Staff for Speaker Madigan, State Rep. Meeks, State Sen. and US Senate candidate Barack Obama, State Controller and US Senate Candidate Dan Hynes, US Senate Candidate Blair Hull, US Senate Candidate Gary Chico, Fmr Talkshow Hostg and US Senate Candidate Nancy Skinner, as well as numerous county and township Democratic chairpeople, reporters and Democratic activists.
With one exception, all of them gave positive feedback (at this point these people are wise not to support anybody) and there was no negative feedback, the one exception was the ONLY ONE WHO HAD NOT HEARD OF HIM, but that was very interested after hearing about him. ( I am going to post this in a few Clark threads).
