Ok, I am getting pretty tired
Of hearing how great and wonderful Reagan was.....sorry but I do not recall his rule, or the scandals, or the HUGE deficit, to be so gosh darned wunderful. And I may be the only one to say this - but I am actually kind of sad that the Soviet Union collapsed. Not because I had any illusions about communism, but that collapse left a vacuum in which the US retained sole superpower status....and the US is not doing so good at being a benevolent superpower thus far. There is no counter balance - and it seems to me that the only time we had peace (sort of)was when both the US and the USSR were too afraid of each other to really do much damage. Flame away, but the Iraq war never would of happened if the USSR was as powerful today as it was in the 1970's.

I understand that when a person dies, the tributes to that person are most often reflected as being more than the person was. We tend to grasp what was good, forget about the not so good, and shut up about the outright bad....but come on....this man was responsible for the deaths of thousands. HE SPONSORED TERRORISM. I can't stand it anymore - and WILL NOT WATCH ANY MORE NEWS UNTIL NEXT WEEK....ESPECIALLY FRIDAY.

4. Why have you been watching it THIS long???
I tuned out from ANY TV news on Saturday evening. Even my husband, who is normally a TV news junkie, has watched nothing but Law and Order episodes on TV since Saturday.

I'm not even reading my local paper (at least the front page section) since it's nothing but a Reagan love fest.

I think it's great in a way. Even some repukes I know are griping that they are SICK and TIRED of all the Reagan crap all the time! Woo hoo! They are SERIOUSLY overdoing it.

5. You took the words out of my mouth!
As a 38-year-old, I lived through all that "Reaganomics" bullshit once. I don't need to experience it again 20 years later!

Listen up, America: Reagan's right-year nap was a disaster for all but the obscenely wealthy! Deal with it. :grr::nuke:

7. Kill ugly Television!
for the past couple of weeks I've been pretty busy, thankfully, so i haven't been watching much TV. when i do watch i have been sticking with HGTV, discovery, TLC and food network. In addition I've been finishing off a few books i started but never got around to getting to the end.

this never ending Reagan coverage is part kiss ass but mostly it's for ratings. The 24 hour news channels have ruined actual journalism. they need a story and when they get a not so small one they beat it into the ground. Look at Gary Condit, a huge story? I don't think so. Lacey Peterson, tragic and terrible but needing round the clock national media coverage? nah-uh I give this another weeks or so but not so intense and then it will filed away.

8. It will all end on Friday HOPEFULLY. Even Morning
Journal on c-span has become obsessed with Reagan. Network and cable news are out. The Daily Show for the humorous side of the news is in.

10. the body is much colder now, & people are starting to talk bad
about ol ron. i just got right to it, i didn't wait for the coolness of the grave to cool my anger at him.

all day i've been reading, and we are not the only ones who hated him and are sick of all the lies now being told about his whole lie of a life. i've read at least a dozen SCATHING articles today, reminding everyone who will listen that he was next to a nazi, with a smiling face and charming demeanor.

so, the colder his ass gets, the more the truth and crimes will come out. but, the hypnotized still will see him as the greatest president ever. those people, while sad, are dangerous.

11. Join us who are just "peeking" at C-Span to watch Asscroft hearings or
to sniff what's on Washington Journal early morning on C-Span. Lots of us gave it up, because we knew from past experience what it would be.

Tune it out, and go over to LBN or Ediorials Forum here on DU and read for awhile...it's better than watching that Cable Crap anytime. There's more going on out there than Reagan/Reagan/Reagan..24/7.

Or just listen to music...if you can deal with the deprevation, you'll find you don't miss much. There are still DU'ers who inform us of what Tweety, O'Reilly and the rest are saying. It's easier reading it here, than watching it and having a stroke.
