"National Day of Mourning" |
|
Pardon my ignorance, but has there ever been a "National Day of Mourning" declared for any other deceased president?

9. I believe November 25, 1963 was a national day of |
|
mourning for JFK. I could be wrong, I was only 10 years old at the time, but I do remember everything about that particular weekend quite vividly.

If you haven't already, try their Grand Pilsner. It came darn close to replacing EPA as my favorite beer.

I also down a lot of stuff from Schell's. But I'm ticked at them for discontinuing Schmaltz's Alt.

was a national day of mourning and the day of JFK's funeral -a sitting President felled by an assassin. Reagan was a 93-year-old Alzheimer's patient, long absent from the political scene. Certainly worthy of a dignified farewell - but a "state" funeral with mega-hoopla. It's unseemly and unnecessary.
