'Round here in Colorado, you'd think Santa Claus had died.
Maybe a few comments about the overkill of the coverage, but nary a criticism of Saint Ronnie.
An acquaintance of mine, a union member but also a NASCAR buff, was waxing nostalgic for the good old Ray Gun days, talking about how he followed some of Ray Gun's "admirable" stands and policies more closely in those days because he was unemployed. He totally didin't see the irony in that.
"He really stood up for those Marines who got killed in Israel or wherever. It made me proud to be a Murkan. I was out of work for a couple of years then, so I had plenty of time to follow what he did helping the economy and knocking down the Berlin Wall and everything."
Sheesh. Sometimes I just want to give up on this country.

it demonstrates an expectation of freeper/fundie mentality wherever you go. I hope we've entered a phase where those on the left - and in the middle - no longer fear a RW attack after expressing their opinions.
