How many people did Saddam torture? |
|
We hear from the pukes about how evil Saddam was, just never the parts on how Reagan helped the bugger out like he had with Osama too...
Anyway, in Iraq, did Saddam's torture and hatred hurt EVERYBODY in Iraq? Or just a few?
How many hurt Iraqis justified our bogus claim to rid the world of an evil man?
Worst of all: The fact that we ourselves have tortured their people now makes us no better than them. How can we continue to say we're doing a good thing? WE are just as evil.
The future is starting to look very bleak...

7. A pity I didn't see the deleted post... |
|
What America needs is genuine conversation and genuine leaders to bring the country back together. People need to ask questions and bring things out into the open.
I've noted myself becoming far too polarized as well... which, admittedly is easy to do when a completely psychotic, maladjusted dunderhead* is in charge... His comments about God sending him to be president and to go after Saddam and 9/11 and all prove he's a nutter. Anybody else speaking of God in that way would be sent to the mental asylum. Yet we have one such lunatic running this country, no less...

3. Perhaps "a few bad apples" are guilty. |
|
If torture did occur under Saddam, was he really responsible?
Of course, this is a relevant question for Bush & those under his command as well.

6. Precisely, and a follow-up of my original post: |
|
And did Saddam routinely torture ALL of his people?
At what point did our war come across as being justified? Could liberation have been a truly altruistic move on our part? (of course, this could only be believed up until a certain revelation came to light...)
When it was revealed that we ourselves committed those acts of torture (I recently saw new pics which are atrocious, and how many more are still locked away), any "good intentions" we had went right down the toilet. I maintain we are as bad as those we persecute because it turns out we are no better than them and there was no need to start this war, it was all a massive bamboozle.

4. If this is the best Bush supporters can use |
|
to justify their invasion and occupation of Iraq, then I truely feel sorry for them. The ends do NOT jusrtify the means. Ever.

5. It was, at one point... |
|
"Liberate Iraq" and so on.
What is the real reason for going into Iraq? Bush* has said many reasons, all at different times.
The only thing that is consistent in all of this is that he hated Saddam for the looney-tunes death threat that Saddam made against Poppy. One that President Clinton responded to as I recall... It is not unreasonable to assume that * went into Iraq in the name of (immature) blood fued. Holy Hatfield and McCoy...
And if oil was a reason for this war, why haven't we seen it yet? (The rising gas prices alone suggests we're not getting any extra oil, though I'm curious as to how they could go down so much since/including Memorial Day weekend, a weekend where rates usually go UP...)
It's sad. We do the same bad things but in the name of liberation. What if somebody did the same thing; invade America saying they're freeing us for neo-con evil when they in turn take perceived wrongdoers and torture them viciously? You are 200 right, the ends NEVER justify the means. Only savage unthinking animals say they do. :-(

8. Oil, will-to-power, ego, and a chance to do some war profittering... |
|
plus Jingosim, and juvenile posturing... all of this plays into the mix. I HAVE to believe oil plays into ths. That does not mean we'll ever be able to successfully exploit the prize. Basically we acted like bank robbers, or 19th C. American Robber Barons.
Some of these folks, ( Fieth, Perle, Armitage, Scooter, Herr Woflowitz, et al ) are still stuck in the mindset of "What's good for General Bullmoose, is good for the USA!".
I note that the tide of public opinion seems to be turning on the Neo Con Men who advocated this invasion. May they forever be indicted in the court of World opinion for this uncalled for war. My hope is that there won't be a rock big enough for them to crawl under and escape the contempt they so richly deserve.

Also, why haven't we seen pics of the oft-mentioned "rape rooms," either?
Did they go the way of the Kuwaiti incubators? ;)
