Another poor show from the Master of the Universe
This guy just hasn't got it. He's one of the worst speakers in the world. Jibber Jabber. He just said absolutely nothing. stammer stammer stutter stutter. He has no clue what he is saying. Our grid has to be overhauled "I've said it all along?. Total bullshit. Have you heard him say that? HaHaHaHaHaHaHa. Looks like the lights are twinking. "electricity will be stored soon?"

2. Yeah, I heard that line about "I've said all along." WTF?
He is just so bad it's beyond description. If he isn't discussing war and death he's unmotivated and even more lame than usual.

Thank you...I thought I heard him say that, too! Bet the transcript will be cleaned up though.

4. "Yes, but he doesn't talk down to us."
"He talks plain like us."

Yes, this is what I have heard said about his speeches.

11. He talks...
when they tell him to talk and he says what they tell him to say, albeit poorly.

When they were hyping the fact that he was gonna talk, they said it was going to be from "a controlled environment".
The lights in the East go out - and Bunnypants panics in the West?

Also couldn't help but note crawlers on the *s'news* reporting that he was gonna steer clear of all the Pubbie candidates on the recall ballot while he's here in California. KKKarl must've given him a lesson in fingerprints. This (expletive deleted) gives new meaning to depraved cowardice.

5. "The...uh...lights are...uh...uh...out..."
And none more than in that dufus' head.

It was shocking enough to turn on the tube and learn of the crisis, but Bush's hapless, stumbling appearance has the ability to make you feel that no one is in charge.

6. Public speaking is not one his strengths
Similarly (or is that simianly?) his strengths do not include running a government, running a war, understanding complex issues, balancing a budget or empathising with "ordinary" people.

I wonder if he does have any strengths?

7. energy
Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 08:20 PM by paulsbc
is actually a Bush/Cheney area that they have said many things about the power system in this country.

To wit, from 1991

http://www.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/05/17/bush.transcript/

In all of these ways, we will expand the diversity or our energy supply. But as with conservation, new energy supply alone is not the whole answer. There is a third element we must address -- modernizing the network that delivers the supply to the point of demand.

your public speaking points are dead on, he has got to be the worse public speaker in the history of politics. the brain doesn't seem to work for him in any kind of rapid neuron way :)

This has been the worst and possibly the most disjointed speaking I have ever heard GWB do.

For the first time, I didn't believe Pres. Bush. He tried to appear too casual, repeated "rolling black-out" too many times in the first few sentences, and just seemed strange. I don't think they know what caused the power surge that took down 21 power plants in 3 minutes in 5 states and Canada...and sadly, I don't think we'll find out until something similar to this happens on a grand scale that can't be hidden. I know...I'll go get my tinfoil hat now....

"the power surge that took down 21 power plants in 3 minutes in 5 states and Canada"

Just once, for the judges, could we get a definition of "grand scale"?

9. Rolling Blackouts?
What the fuck is he talking about? This was not rolling blackouts. I can't decide whether he is stupid or if he is just trying to remind the people of California of their own problems two and a half years ago.

So now we have to recall Pataki.

14. AND HE WAS TAPED!!! How bad would he have been live?????
At least this evening his puppetmasters could do a couple of different takes.

But the guy is utterly helpless. Can there be any doubt that this sorry suit of clothes actually *ain't* running things?

16. Because the meds wouldn't have kicked in in time had he
done the spot live.

My god, you can see how bad things are when they have only partially taken effect as in tonight's tape.

I believe he's a fucking pillhead.
