Looking at Bush hosting Bill Clinton today, * sure seemed humbled |
|
and small.
and out of his league.
and the smirk was gone.
Standing in the shadow of greatness tends to do that, I guess.

Clinton is in the same class as Raygun. I am not implying they are the same, just the fact that they are both equally eloquent...

2. He finally got some good advice |
|
and tried to appear human. He still couldn't read his teleprompter and fumbled when he began attempting to praise Hillary, he just couldn't get it out right.
You are correct, however. In comparison to the Big Dog, busholini looks like the weak bitch he is.

6. Bush the Elder and Bush the Lesser |
|
Both were out of their league as President. The Elder had to go with Quayle to find a VP who wouldn't overshadow him and Lesser needs a guy who spends his time hidden away so he isn't overshadowed.

5. SMALL. Hmm... do I sense another buzzword in the making? |
|
SMALL. That's how Evan Thomas (I think that's his last name) of Newsweek described bush on Imus this morning, when I tuned in on MSNBC at like 4 or 5 am. Evan Thomas said that - last Friday at the National Cathedral - bushie looked SMALL in comparison with bush senior, in terms of their eulogies. that daddy's speech was one he obviously wrote, himself, and had humor, true emotion, and was delivered with real feeling behind it. Whereas junior's, he said, was lackluster, oh yes - I remember now - a synthesized speech (that he did NOT write himself) and delivered in a rather flat, lackluster manner. Just reading words, and apparently too heavily focused on his pronunciation and elocution to put any of his own feelings into it. VERY pleasant to hear!
SMALL. He looked SMALL in comparison to his dad. He's looking SMALL in comparison to Reagan. He's looking SMALL in comparison to Clinton. He's looking SMALL in comparison to - well, ANYBODY. Billy Barty, even. Either one of our cats. That snail I just pulled off the petunias. SMALL. An excruciating, devastating review of his "performance" especially in comparison to his own father. I heard that and I knew if bush heard it, he'd be feeling VERY badly stung. That's about the worst insult you could throw at him, I bet, to say he doesn't measure up to his daddy. That's his whole reason for being: showing up his dad. But he's still clinging to his training wheels, and wearing his pedal-pushers, I'm afraid.

SMALL in stature SMALL in mind
Especially works when he is going to be near Kerry in the debate. Look how SMALL he is, like a little Napoleon!

No matter what he does he's still too small to fill his old man's shoes, and that's probably one of the few things in this world that really matters to him, aside from wealth and power.

11. What I noticed at the end of the |
|
event, when Laura got up and invited everyone to lunch -- bushie* jumped up as quick as a fox and ran over to Lloyd Benston & his wife and Laura followed. Bill and Hillary just stood there alone, and finally Bill nudged her and he, Hillary, and Chelsie just walked away. God, how rude of the bushies*. I thought bushies* speech was too good to be true. They couldn't wait to snub him.

15. you know how * is around food! |
|
Always thinking of his stomach. He's terminated meetings and press conferences several times after announcing that he's got to go have lunch now. I guess this is what he means by putting so much emphasis on his "gut" feelings!
I like my victuals as well, but given that W gets 3 good meals a day plus all the snacks he desires, it's funny that he's in such a hurry to get to the trough!
That portrait of Hillary is radiant. I can't help wondering whether Bill specifically asked the artist to paint him as being more subdued (he's certainly able to smile charmingly and has very expressive eyes) so that he wouldn't outshine his wife on canvas.

12. Didn't the big dog put in some digs at *? |
|
It seems like he did.
One was talking about his worries over Kosovo, about whether he was doing the right thing. (bush has no doubts)
Clinton said he hoped to "live long enough to see us return to vigorous debates where we argue who's right and wrong, not who's good and bad." This seems like a slam at bush for his vilification of anyone who disagrees with him.
