I just saw a clip of Bush's remarks to reporters
on my local news. The clip was maybe 20 seconds long but contained 4 or 5 edits.

Let me say that again: 4 or 5 edits in a 20 second video clip!

This is truly alarming! Has the boy-king deteriorated to the point that he can't maintain a coherent train of thought for 30 seconds or less?? Something is terribly wrong with him - he's decompensating before our eyes.

Not that that's a BAD thing, you understand; but it's just so frigging obvious and the media just keeps acting as if everything is normal.

1. hopefully there were some real reporters there
Maybe we'll get the real story from them.

Anyone know if/how the media were screened for this event?

16. I wondered about that--I didn't think the questions came from real
reporters, but from their own WH PR staff posing as reporters. I could be wrong--because the real WH press corps could see through that. But the questions sounded like cues for Bush*--to make sure he got all his points made. Not that some of the regulars wouldn't be delighted to oblige, I guess.

The whole thing was weird. And why tape it? They never explained. (I know, it was to cover incompetance, but it seemed worse than usual, even with the safely of it being taped. Is it possible he has some degenerative disease they're trying to cover up?)

4. did the clip show the big nose wipe sniffle thing?
I couldn't believe he wiped his nose on his sleeve like a kindergartner - don't get me wrong I love kindergartners ( I have 3 kids 1st grade, 4 yrs and 1 yr)

Old habit from his coke days, perhaps?

We just couldn't believe that if you taped a statement this is what you would release. He seemed like he was trying to act concerned but was actually lost.

8. Did he really
wipe his nose on his sleeve? Tell me it aint so...

Someone posted the other day that he was picking his nose while waiting to speak somewhere.

I just can't deal with this insanity anymore. :argh:

6. Just to clarify...
this wasn't his appearance earlier this evening about 8:30.

The one I'm talking about, he was standing in a room with a bookcase or something in the background.

Gawd! It was awful. I wasn't really paying attention to what was on the TV, but when they ran that clip, I thought I'd choke.

As someone said on another post last night, "We're in deep kim chi".

11. If it's the one where it took him ten seconds to say "um"
then that's the one I saw, but the in the one I saw he also referred to "rolling blackouts". No wonder Cheney has heart trouble. So do all the other handlers, I'm sure, which is why he's been allowed so few press conferences. He's looking more and more unpresidential every day.

7. Probably edited due to it's redundance. Bush is so irrelevant...impotent.
:boring: Even WITH all the edits he repeated himself ad infinitum and dragged out each word, struggling to put two words together. Any bets he was in Crawford reading a goat story when he was so rudely interrupted by this little incident?

His own home in Crawford is off the grid, outfitted with the latest in alternative energy products. You didn't think he actually depended on fossil fuels did ya...?

9. The thing that was the most insane . . .
Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 10:10 PM by TeeYiYi
. . . is that they broke in to Will and Grace for a supposedly live comment from the pResident. It was immediately
(and painfully) obvious that it had been recorded and heavily edited. The network couldn't wait to get back to regular
programming, which they did.

It was fucking disturbing. He looked like Howdy Doody standing there with his pancake makeup and overly roughed cheeks.

TYY

Edited for weird line breaks. :eyes:

10. I found that odd
I had heard on CNN that he was going to give a speech, and they were pumping it up as though they were going to do it live, but then all I saw was about 20 seconds of NOTHING but drunken crap and right back to programming. Very odd

17. I've got it! I know what it reminded me of . . .

Remember in the movie 'Total Recall' when Arnold's character tried to sneak through security disguised as a fat woman? His disguise is programmed to say a set number of phrases and when he gets put on the spot it starts falling apart? The guards are just staring at him and he gets caught when it keeps saying "Two Weeks" over and over so he takes the head off and throws it like a bomb and starts running . . .

OMG. *lol* Watching Howdy Doody was like watching a robot on the fritz. I thought his head was going to explode, he just kept saying the same shit over and over and over and he looked so damned confused and uncomfortable and shifty and looking around for someone to help him. I was waiting for him to pull that Howdy Doody head off and throw it and start running.

Anyone ever see the movie 'Dave' about the fake president while the real one is in a coma in the basement?

OMG, I think MY head is going to explode. I can't tell what's real and what's Memorex anymore. . . everything seems like a movie.

TYY

18. Terrible
I watched it live and the chimp had a difficult time putting a sentence together. I was actually thinking he must have practiced weeks for the debates.

As for the blackout he had no clue.
