I cannot believe that Franken had not seen the * 9/11 snippet reading the |
|
goat book and what he did before he went into the school and after being told about the second plane. I can believe "unaware" people had not seen this. But Franken????? My God, Symbolman has the most dramatic, amazing clip about this. It makes me cry everytime. And it has been around for a long time. I am sure this is not the only one.

1. I'm glad he's seen it now, though. |
|
If he hadn't seen it, that must mean he doesn't really listen to Randi, because she talks about the Symbolman split-screen movie all the time.
Who knows?

9. might not get read there. |

That blog is a vile, vile place. It's a gruesome mishmash of liberals and freepers. People lurk there just to argue and there's no moderation.

11. I've never been in the blog. I don't like the format. |
|
I like Randi's discussion board. It's set up kind of like DU, except it's on this ugly orange background.
The Franken site has a "Contact Us" email form that might work just as well.

3. IIRC, Franken at one time had stated that he did not own a computer. |
|
I don't know if this has changed or not, or if he is able to do the research necessary to keep himself up to date on a work computer. You can't be a Luddite and keep up with the real news.

8. It wasn't until I came to DU that I even knew |
|
what "Luddite" meant.
I believe you do recall correctly, about him not owning a computer.

It would explain the gaps in his knowledge I hear about, though.

5. Franken's hard to figure. He supported the Iraq invasion, too. |
|
He claims he believed the WMD evidence BushCo was presenting. He's since changed his mind, but I wonder how he missed the overwhelming evidence before the invasion that the Bush evidence was faked?
He's highly informed on many issues, but on others, he's a bit lacunose.

10. You're saying he's lying. I don't know |
|
Seems like claiming he wasn't fooled would be a better position than saying he was fooled. He also vlounteers this information often, and usually when speaking to people who didn't believe the rhetoric, which makes it seem less like a position to fool supporters of the war than an honest admission.
I can see him claiming he was fooled as a rhetorical device to weaken the defiance of people he's arguing against, but only as a radio host, not as a potential candidate.
He sounds sincere about it, though.

12. He said he believed Colin Powell's presentation to |
|
the UN Security Council.
Hell, so did I!
I was doubtful of everything BushCo did, but when Powell took pictures and test tube vials to the UN and said the WMD were right there and were an imminent threat, I had to admit that we probably needed to go to war.
I didn't see that we needed to go right that minute, but Powell convinced me, as he did Franken.
Powell was very compelling.
Too bad he wasn't accurate.
