Bush and the half-year gap

In his "consoling" message tonight re the power outage, Bush said that America was better prepared than it was "two AND A HALF" years ago to respond to a widespread emergency. It's subtle, but note that Sept. 11 was LESS than two years ago.

I think Rove has told Bush to add the half year so as to suggest, "Hey, what a mess my sex-crazed predecessor left our federal emergency services in!"

Again, it's a case of talking up personal responsibility while always blaming the other guy.

1. Nah.
B* is just stupid. That's like his faux pas in the speech where he talked about something like "a century and a half of friendship" with the Japanese, when we were at war with them only about 50 years ago.
