Calling all Canadians! Who's watching the debate? |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 07:20 PM by ironflange
Interesting, all four are wearing diagonal-striped ties. Martin's red one is the nicest, the only one that's not blue, but it's a little crooked.
Gee, do you think Martin was ready for that sponsorship question?
Harper's old haircut looked like a cheap toupee, his new one looks like a comb-over.
Wait, I think Jack Layton's tie is black and grey. Sorry.

that his tie is crooked. They're really slapping the make-up on Martin...Canada doesn't vote for people that look like they're "becoming" a Tommyknocker.
A friend of mine is voting Harper. I keep bringing up the topic of knee-jerk reactions to no avail. So far I'm leaning toward J. Layton, although I'm apprehensive about his views on China, etc. (Which he doesn't seem to elaborate on too often).
Aside from Jack it would appear that our politicians have the collective personality of a crocono (sp?) board.

I should know - my Dad had a board and we played often...
Layton's my guy. He speaks his mind and he champions the plight of the working poor.

6. Yeah, he reminds me a bit of Kucinich, |
|
in that you know he may not get all the votes but he seems genuinely interested in people and doing a good job. I'm really hoping they get more than their token few seats...
On a different note, they really should scuttle the video of Ed Broadbent (Ed's Back!) on their campaign headquarters website. It's a little embarrassing, even their target audience (youth) probably think so.
Worthy of note: The NDP platform doesn't seem to be going the "throw money at the problem, no matter where it comes from" route that all the Harper crew accuse the NDP of doing.
Ontarians really have forgotten Mike Harris, but when you get duped by the photo-radar issue what do you expect?

8. Layton would scrap the "Clarity Bill" re Quebec |
|
That is a very reckless thing for him to propose...He talks all over the top of everyone and doesn't allow anyone to finish their sentences....I hope people will give Martin a chance to be Prime Minister....I think he's our best chance.

Good line from the BQ's Duceppe.
Layton's doing pretty well, too. Martin looks harried.

5. Layton lost the French debate |
|
According to the Quebec media. I'm listening to him now and he's at his repulsive best. Can this guy keep his mouth shut for the others to respond?

I find him to be obnoxious....I say give Martin a chance....His father had a great social conscience and Martin has spoken with passion about the influence his father had on him.....I hope we don't let Harper sneak in by too many voting for the NDP....This is similar to the American dilemma with Ralph Nader...IMO
P.S....The NDP are good people...I just don't like Layton.
