So "El Canadianos" been to debates? |
|
I was at one last night. IT was fairly...crappy in all. BUT! I Will say this, this, I've never taken a green party candidate seriouslyl. This guy was good. Other than that, my impressions were that the Libs?Cons were not representatives of our area to Ottawa, but they were Ottawaa's reps to US. Thank god I have a good indeoendetn to vote for. One problem, his views on Abortionn are this:
"I am personally against abortion, but I respect the law and right now the law says a woman's right is to chose. I will respect the law"
Kinda fishy. I have no problem with a person's personal opinion. BUT, abortion is a ht topic, and I agree with a woman's right to chose. So, if he is persnonally against it. Who am I to judge a person? As long as their personal beilifes don't affect the law?

1. My feelings on abortion is |
|
that if a woman feels she needs to have one, she has a right to a physician. If a law is passed that says she can't have an abortion, she probably will get one anyway from a quack in a motel or dirty little room someplace. What right do I have to tell her she has no right to a physician?

On abortion in Canada as I understand it. Similar to no law on breathing the air. The court has ruled that banning abortion is a law that is against a woman's right under the charter. If your future MP doesn't understand that then he has an out as there is no law.
