Entire contingent of Vermont National Guard... |
|
placed on "Alert" and told to prepare for possible deployment in 90 days. This alert also triggers the DOD "stop loss" provision which prevents soldiers from leaving the service at their scheduled times. This means that 1500 civilian soldiers are about to undergo drastic changes in their lifestyles. This is scary shit and I fear something is up and it will not be in our best interests. We are a very small state and have already lost 10 of our citizens to this insanity. Now This !!!

3. I hate to think this....but.... |
|
Would the fact that Dean condemned Bush in London today have a connection?
Nah....that would be a silly thing to say.
:spank:
Forget I said that....that was stupid. :silly:

5. Makes you wonder why they deployed HALF of the U.S. fleet |
|
to the mid east. My nephew is on one of those ships.

6. And one could assume many of those Guardsmen/women are also |
|
EMTs, involved in fire fighting and/or law enforcement. I would think there are many small communities in Vermont which will be short emergency response personnel when the whole Guard gets deployed.
We have same situation in MT. Rural communities are hit very hard and left defenseless not just in case of a disaster, but on a day to day basis because many of the emergency response people are in the Guard or reserves. Leaves us without any protection at home.

7. It isn't just the 1500 national guardsmen that will suffer upheaval |
|
Think of their children and wives or husbands. You could probably triple that number and still be off a bit.
