Re Anti-Clinton Ad To Air During "60 Minutes". |
|
I saw one of the idiots behind the ad on Faux earlier.
Apparently at one point there is video of the twin towers being hit, followed by a shot of Clinton's book...the title "My Life" morphs onto "My Fault".
I felt like I had been sucker-punched when I heard this.
Sorry if this has already been posted, I didn't see it.

1. I cannot believe that this is the case. |

I find it inconceivable that CBS would allow such an amazingly low thing to occur. If it does, I and millions of Americans will never watch CBS again.

commercial. No disagreement from the person representing the group behind the ad (I've forgotten the name of the group).

Didn't you hear? CBS refuses to air "issue" ads. That's why they wouldn't take money from MoveOn.org for a Super Bowl ad. Therefore, they cannot, and will not air the ad described. It would make them inconsistent, hypocritical RW lapdogs. So don't pretend you can see it; it's not there.

6. I saw an editor from National Review on CSPAN this morning who |
|
went out of his way to say that it was inherently unfair to compare Clinton pre 9-11 to Bush post 9-11. He went on to point out that NEITHER party made terrorism their first priority before 9-11 (which I take issue with that, IMHO, Clinton was working "behind the scenes" to fight terrorism) anyway, he stated, "Did you see any republicans getting on the airways claiming that we needed to fight terrorism? No! and I can guarantee that had Clinton wanted to bomb Afghanistan in the 90's the republican controlled congress would have forcefully said no".
He made some really good points.

11. Sorry, I don't understand |
|
:)
Do you mean it is a wash and you aren't to blame either administration for the attacks on 9-11?
That is what he was saying, however, he found lots of criticism for Bush post 9-11 and stated that had Gore been in office, we would be fighting in Afghanistan NOT in Iraq.

16. Yes, that is exactly what I meant. |
|
It doesn't surprise me that NRO would want to appear to be even-handed by assigning some blame to * for Iraq. The bottom line is to deflect attention from *'s pre-9/11 failures. Iraq is still arguable and Kerry voted for the IWR.
The Iraq War can be excused as an "overzealous" response to 9/11, particularly if an October Surprise involves WMD.
OTOH, 9/11 is unforgivable.
This is all being carefully orchestrated, IMHO.

13. "Didn't do anything after the FIRST WTC attack..." |
|
Excuse me, but aren't the ones rsponsible for the first WTC bombing currently making license plates or snowmobile trail signs for Yellowstone in a federal prison someplace?
Oh, I get it...."Clinton didn't do nothing" means "Clinton didn't go whup-up on some third-world country to show the world we don't take no shit and our Colors don't Run..."

I wrote CBS news as soon as I heard about this commercial, but I did not receive a reply. Curious if anyone even got an automated response to their emails?

event" like the super bowl. So they do have an out.

...been in office for over 3 yrs, is not seeking election to any office and yet the right feels compelled to run ads against him because of a book tour? This just shows the pathetic state of the Bush administration - they have nothing to run on - and they've spent nearly $100 million running ads against Kerry to no avail - guess the other side figures "why not" run ads against Clinton - can't hurt their cause. If the public falls for this then they deserve everything that comes out of this administration.

20. I'm hoping that it really backfires on them. |
|
It might seem a bit ironic that this piece-of-shit smear will air as Clinton discusses the VRWC and how they were out to get him.
I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

so over the top that backfire is inevitable. Once a liar knows you know they are lying their lies get really transparent and they start sweating. I say it's good, let the ad show. People who watch 60 Minutes are not the same as people who listen to Rush, the ad will offend them.

19. WTF? Since when do groups run ads about past presidents? |
|
When are they going to understand that CLINTON ISN'T RUNNING THIS YEAR? God, their obsession with him is fanatic. It's like a fetish!
He's a past president! WTF? We're not running ads about Bush Sr and about how he left Saddam in power. WTF?

The Reagan 24-7 lovefest was pretty much unchallenged, yet Clinton's book interview on CBS will have "Blame Clinton for 9-11" ad. Now that is balance! Gee what will these freaks do when Clinton dies?
