Wes Clark should run as a Republican
That way Bush would have an able adversary in the primaries
and who knows, might even lose to Clark or at least have a
poor showing. What happens after that is anyone's guess.

Whaddathink?

1. Why
I understand what you're saying, but Wesley Clark is a democrat and that's how he should run.
He's on our team.

3. I think moderate Republicans would run him
if he decided to run as one. Might be wild thinking
but I've seen wilder...

8. The Problem, Though
Is that when it came down to a cat fight in the National Convention, Bush will win. Why? Because the wingnut evangelicals and the rabid right wingers would all vote for Bush. Clark is far too progressive for all but the most moderate of Republicans.

You can't win the Republican nomination without at least paying lipservice to the pathologies of the right in the Republican Party. Classic case of they don't have enough clout to just elect Pat Robertson but they do have enough to make sure anyone else DOESN'T get elected if they don't bow and scrape.

10. Convention
I don't have statistical info on this, but it seems to
me that the rightwingnuts don't make up the clear majority
of the Republican party. I see moderate Republicans wanting a
choice.

9. Actually, technically he's registered Independent.
I thought I heard him say that, but that idealogically he's more of a Dem than an R.

4. Bush is some of the Republican's wet dream, but not all...
Bush needs an adversary in the primaries.

5. Republicans are cancelling primaries
in a bunch of states because they already know who the nominee will be. If anyone entered the race they'd probably cancel the rest.

14. Should be illegal to do that
Primaries include ballot measures also don't they? and write-ins?

6. Nah, he'd have to fly in a small plane sometime
and I like him too much as a human and as a candidate.

12. Yes
but I would be afraid of his taking votes away from
more Dems and Indies than Republicans if he ran as an
Indie.

13. I get weird strong feelings about things from time to time...
this is one of them. Maybe he will run as an Indie, but
I pray he runs as a Republican.
