Can the Media protect us from Michael Moore? |
|
Forget Bush, forget Ashcroft, forget Rumsfeld. The real person to fear this election season is Michael Moore. While Bush can authorize a nuclear strike and/or a preemptive war, while Ashcroft can strip us of our civil liberties and while Rumsfeld can authorize torture, Moore’s power eclipses them all:
Moore can present an alternate point of view.
Our current system of government simply cannot withstand such an onslaught. Something must be done. Well, citizens, fear not: our loyal media is on the case and a non-stop barrage has been orchestrated to discredit Moore at every turn. All major media has been enlisted volunteered to join in the fight. All means, fair or foul, are being used. With God’s help, this barbarian will be turned back at the gates.
But Moore may be able to get through anyway this time. Fear not. It won’t happen again. This particular vulnerability has been identified and The Carlyle Group has now purchased Lowes Cinema group.

2. Even George Stephanopoulos was critical of Moore showing |
|
Bush 7 minutes reading to kids while we were attacked.
I guess they have to protect their image. They let Bush and his chicken hawks get away with murder without asking any hard questions. They were little Cheerleaders for Bush's Iraq war. Moore exposes that.
Nothing can stop that now. Their incompetence will be exposed. Many people will see Moore's film and see them for what they really are: Little whores for the WH.

The media has left * get away with everything and now they are being called on the carpet, so to speak, and they do not like it. They do not like having the blame for this war put on them. But I think they have the blood of all our dead troops on their hands. I blame the media the most for this fiasco. They could have stopped it.

5. During Katie Couric's interview, Moore said just that... |
|
and Katie's response was to say "well, let me do my job" and proceeded to confront Moore with three negative emails. That was when I thought up this post.

15. I have no sympathy for her because her husband died! |
|
She obviously is willing to cover for Bush who is responsible for the death of thousands of innocent Iraqis and 840+ U.S soldiers, so I have no sympathy for this SOB!!!

I wish that the bush* base |

could see and hear exactly who he considers his 'base' - the ultra-wealthy, elite and entitled 1%... the ONLY ones who have benefitted from his 'presidency'

8. Eventually, they will censor Michael Moore |
|
by not interviewing him. They WILL blackball him. Remember what they did to Scott Ritter before the Iraq war? They didn't want to hear the TRUTH so, they refused to interview him. He was silenced. Sad, because he was RIGHT! Yes indeed. They have blood on their hands and they know it!

11. Unfortunately for the media whores, they've already iconized Moore |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 08:34 PM by 0rganism
By so obviously stretching to portray him as a marginal pariah over the years, they've inadvertantly created something larger than an independent filmmaker with an agenda. Moore is now a cult figure, a certified celebrity, and there's nothing that can be done about that now. Even if every production company in the USA turned him away at the door in 2005, he could still go to Canada or Europe and have his pick of sponsors. Even if every distribution company in this sad country decided not to release his films, there are still indy theatres that would actively seek him out and pick it up. Even if every retail chain banned his DVDs, he could still find a way to get them out to millions of Americans.
We want to know what he has to say. And the media whores have their own whorish antics to thank for that. As the saying goes, "Methinks thou dost protest too much."
Ritter, sad to say, wasn't exactly well-known as the head of UNSCOM. It was easy to blackball him, as his media image has always been relatively quiet, and it's now further discolored by virtue of the child sex sting.
Blackballing doesn't work on Hollywood celebrities like it did in the '50s; nowadays, it just adds to their mystique. However, it works like magic on shadowy professionals moonlighting as expert analysts and consultants.

14. I don't hide the fact that I don't like Moore - at all - |
|
but I would never approve of him being censored. He has every right to produce a movie of his views, he's got the money, and he's got the support. If the righties are so bothered by it, they should consider making their own propaganda-smothered bitchfest.

16. Yeah--they'd just have to find a plot |
|
Let's see, how about how Clinton left us with a budget surplus of over $100B? Nah...
Let's see, how about George Bush's military career? Nah...
I know--George Bush won't sign the Kyoto protocols against global warming, signed by 180 other nations? Nah...
How about this: George Bush goes to jail for war crimes! Now we've got some drama!! :P
