2. This article explain's Palast's position:
excerpt:

Their plan was not to follow the rules, but to ELIMINATE the rules. They called it "deregulation."

"It was like a committee of bank robbers figuring out how to make safecracking legal.

"But they dare not launch the scheme in the USA. Rather, in 1990, one devious little bunch of operators out of Texas, Houston Natural Gas, operating under the alias "Enron," talked an over-the-edge free-market fanatic, Britain's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, into licensing the first completely deregulated power plant in the hemisphere.

"And so began an economic disease called "regulatory reform" that spread faster than SARS. Notably, Enron rewarded Thatcher's Energy Minister, one Lord Wakeham, with a bushel of dollar bills for 'consulting' services and a seat on Enron's board of directors. The English experiment proved the viability of Enron's new industrial formula: that the enthusiasm of politicians for deregulation was in direct proportion to the payola provided by power companies.

5. I love Palast and it absolutely sickens me that he is
out there practically alone when it comes to investigative reporting. He is a real hero, in my book. In fact, until very recently I did not even have a book, but now I do, and the Texas Dems are in it with Palast, and Rep. Stark, and there may even be a new entry if the powers that be tell the truth about the outtage (not holding my breath).

Thank God for him getting his tail out there and de-bunking Bush's deregulation drive before Bush even had a chance to get started bunking it. I wish there was a purple heart for journalism; honestly, I can't believe that Palast is still on the planet, with the David Kelly, and Steve Kangas, and Jim Hatfield "suicides" ( and God knows how many others.)

It's awesome that he got himself on the #1 rated network at a time when O'Reilly et al are trying to appear "fair and balanced" to offset bad p.r. from the Franken suit. Palast is a genius, but we knew that already.

3. Uh oh
Palast better be careful not to utter words or phrases that
are clearly trademarked by Fox pundits, including:

"oink," "eliminate estate tax," and - of course - "blame Clinton"

4. I agree with Palast 100%
I just had my power turned on in Manhattan. The Republicans PR campaign is that we need new Nuke plants.
